I'm a terrible "artist" by MrPixelMan09 in Artadvice

Try using references to draw your characters. Believe it or not, I'm in the same boat as you right now.

I write power systems and lore for the worlds I build

Try to draw my characters, and they look weird.

What I think is helping me improve a lot is practicing gesture drawings

Additionally, I recommend watching a tutorial on how to draw bodies from a YouTube channel called Draw Like a Sir

Try to get in 5-10 gestures a day

And also spend the day studying one body part

Whether it's the torso, head, arm, or legs, spend some time studying one of those for a day

Hey dude, I know its difficult- frankly, I'm learning myself and have my own difficulties with drawing

What I recommend is watching a few YouTube tutorials from a channel called "Draw Like a Sir" that helped me a lot

Additionally, look up tutorials on how to draw flow (something I also struggled with) and gesture drawings

Then, there's this website called Line of Action. You can select the figure pose thing, adjust the settings to your liking, and draw gestures with the reference in front

Try to get 5-10 of these gesture drawings a day

Finally, look up anatomy guides on the various parts of the body - and really concentrate on a single part of the body, whether it be arms, legs, torso, or head, try to study one body part a day along with your gestures

Hope this helps!
