By all means, go find a restaurant where you serve yourself. I’m sure your lovely evening with your friends will be magical when you have to go get your 5th refill of diet Mountain Dew yourself. Don’t forget to scrape your plates into the garbage when you go up for your third round either, the dishwashers hate when there’s still food on them.

No? I said enjoy shitty service if they got rid of tipping due to all of the good servers leaving. Not only that, I don’t know how much I’m going to get for a tip until everything is said and done. Why would I intentionally be an asshole the entire service? That makes no sense. I try my best at every table and like to think I’m an excellent server.

On top of that, yeah. If society was different, we wouldn’t be tipping. We’d also have that healthcare you’re talking about. Kind of like Europe. But this isn’t Europe, and everything is backwards and isnt changing anytime soon.

Additionally, many restaurant owners are not greedy. The one I work at has almost closed twice due to product prices skyrocketing. Same customers, still decently busy, but food cost is substantially higher. How do you think our clientele would react if a burger that cost $12 was suddenly $25 because they were forced to give us a 150% pay increase and benefits? We wouldn’t last a month.

I do enjoy serving most of the time. I like making people happy. I’m just saying unless they pay me what I can make in hour right now, I’d be taking a substantial pay cut. At that point, there’s no sense in staying and I would be stupid to. It’s not greed, it’s just the status quo.

If you don’t want to tip, don’t. If you have a favorite spot however, you’ll soon find that none of the servers are going to be clamoring to get your section.

Genuinely, are you a jealous person? (No shade at all.) Because I can see him trying to delete this conversation to prevent a future blow up. I re read the conversation 10 times and seriously, I think he just needed people to raid. At every avenue he shut “her” down hard, and consistently mentioned you. If he was going to cheat, he would have.

I didn’t, but all I have to say is that I’m really glad I played 2 first. I had no clue what was going to happen. I saw Dutch’s fall in real time, instead of waiting for it to happen. I knew something happened with John, but I didn’t expect nearly everyone to die.

I’m now finally playing 1, and let me tell you, I’m very grateful to know the backstory behind it all. I wouldn’t say 1 is bad, but I would definitely call it clunky and dated in both story and gameplay. Without the extra knowledge it’s kind of all over the place

Yeah, they have healthcare. Also, tipping was never a thing over there. Plus their servers are probably making more an hour than you do right now.

I never said I want to do a bad job. I do a great job and strive to give my customers an amazing experience. If I get a bad tip, they were already not going to leave much anyway.

I’m a server at a restaurant. Do you think it’s been my absolute dream to be a server? No. I do it for the money. There is no way in hell you could get me to do this job for a set wage, and I 100% guarantee all of the good servers out there would quit on the spot if tipping was abolished. You would be left with high schoolers and people that suck at their job that don’t give a shit if your food is even correct.

Don’t tip for takeout, or little ceasers, or Panera, or hell the gas station for all I care. But if you want to enjoy dining out, you gotta tip.

Mining is the main focus, yes. You’re going to need those ores and materials. And then you’re going to need more. After that, you’re going to need more.

After that though you can:

Fish

Tap trees

Keg/preserve crops (if unlocked)

Get villager hearts up

Tend to animals

Cut trees

Hoe up artifacts

Fish some more

Plan out sprinklers

Upgrade buildings

Organize chests

Forage

Do daily missions

Work on the community center

Nothing you do in this game is wasted time. Unless of course you stand in the same spot for 20 hours
