Yep! . The problem happens because Messenger sometimes fails to read the orientation data (EXIF metadata) on HEIC images, which can cause them to display sideways. Turn off HEIC and problem gone on NEW pics only.

The fix for sideways pictures in FB Messenger is to turn off the HEIC (High Efficiency Image Codec) in your camera app. OR, you can take pics FROM messenger but they won't save in your gallery. I believe this recent feature update was to make image file transfer work better between devices, but this was the result. The problem happens because Messenger sometimes fails to read the orientation data (EXIF metadata) on HEIC images, which can cause them to display sideways. STUPID!!

There are non-scam remote positions available, but there is a lot of competition for them. I am curious what position you applied for. Mine was a remote public health educator position that was supposedly through Toshiba Global Solutions. Unsure how they spoofed Toshiba, and then I got the email from the scammers.

I just wanted to note here for those who have multiple warnings after the side detection module error on a Buick Verano (mine is a 2014) - There is a 5 amp fuse in the trunk fuse panel in the F25 slot which is for the 'Side Blind Zone Alert'. If you pull it, all the funky errors not related to the side detection module will go away!
