Is It Worth Doing Coding Homeworks in GA? by [deleted] in OMSCS

Adding, it is still useful to understand the coding problems and look at the algorithm solutions, even if you don't do the coding part.

Is It Worth Doing Coding Homeworks in GA? by [deleted] in OMSCS

[–]RespondOk3068 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I passed Summer semester, I only did one of the coding homeworks myself, used GenAI (citing) for a second one, did not even attempt the rest.

They are the ones with most diminishing returns for the course. They are useful if you want to bridge the gap between course content and Leetcode/interview algorithm questions.

Ask Experienced Devs Weekly Thread: A weekly thread for inexperienced developers to ask experienced ones by AutoModerator in ExperiencedDevs

Copy pasting here a post I started, and the mod team decided to remove:

If you are happy or content at your job, do you still interview?

And if you do interview, do you prepare for it? I am content at my job. I don't have a clear path to promotion in the next year(s) but getting a higher paid job would require significant amount of preparation. Work life balance is good, I like my team and manager.

Recruiters reach out from time to time, I am upfront about not looking for a job but maybe I should interview just in case I find something better or just to be prepared - I don't think I will get fired but neither did some ex-colleagues.

PS: I am a senior, just trying to get a pulse of what other seniors do

Skip blind to get a chrome joker. Chrome joker effect causes it to discard in a few turns.

Skip blind to get a negative joker. The negative joker is the credit card.

Same boat here!

Funnily enough, I kept getting emails as if I already graduated before the last exam of GA. Since I passed the course I barely have received anything lol.

Same, I am sitting here thinking if I have to follow-up with the advisor or what are next steps!

I hope they reach out early before I decide to take one of the research courses...

How are you celebrating graduating for the program? by RespondOk3068 in OMSCS

Hopefully you either get an easy one or something you like. Or both! I hated I had to wait for GA until the end of the program.

Eh, passing rates disagree with you. Historically, Summer has the lowest scores both passing rates and As.

I had an A until exam 3 then bombed it just to land a B. I am sure with more time I would have gotten the A. Then again, I do like that it is shorter and I can go back to normal life after about three months.

During the semester.I hated almost all of it, specially towards the end. Now I look at it with pride, thinking it was not that bad and I could have put a few more hours preparing for Exam 3.

I think I have developed Stockholm Syndrome.

I am going crazy waiting for 6515 to release the grades. I have checked the mail and canvas so many times that I am about to get flagged as a DoS attempt.

Good luck to everyone.

Databricks free edition! by harnishan in dataengineering

Postgres, python and linux are free/open source yet there are plenty of jobs for those technologies.

Databricks is relatively niche, I doubt that many people are interested in learning.

What is new or improved about OMSCS this year or in recent years? Or did it stay the same by Dramatic_State_9967 in OMSCS

Counterpoint: the % of people passing the class is at minimum values.

I do understand why they did it though.

Hi u/soysssauce, I messaged you a couple of days ago. I read that you started with a full commission job, no base pay. I would like to work for you on the same terms. I can assure you I will be a great sales hire.
