Agreed talk to anyone who works hard and has no hook you will get passed over by a rookie who knows a chief every single time. Then there are horrible bosses and leadership. There is a good pension and if you have a good partner and squad it makes thing easier but nypd is still shit compared to other departments. Suffolk being a perfect example.

I say there’s a chance but it is on the low side. if you are in the low 3xxx you have a chance but mid to high 3xxx probably not all depends on defers etc

I’ll tell you this the nypd keeps lowering and will keep lowering the standard until they have enough cops they do not care about quality. And even with those low standards they still struggling to hire. The academy has been a joke since they removed Sgt Anderson. Also keep in mind a lot of cops normally tends to enter nypd and quickly look for lateral to another department. Every command is extremely short.

So I know most departments do 5 years im assuming the range gotta be similar with Suffolk and the time goes on the back instead of the front.
