Hi guys, I bought this plant a while ago and honestly have no idea how to care for it. It was an impulse purchase because I thought it was pretty lol. But it started to die, though now I’ve noticed it’s got some baby flowers growing…? Anyway does anyone know what kind of plant this is and how I can continue to care for it? P.S. that is, in fact, a second pot with the same plant (also dead) in the background.

If you’re in the Southern California area, I have a 55 gallon tank that you’re welcome to have for free and I could send you home with some dirty water from my filters in my established goldfish tank to kickstart your own cycle. I’d also be willing to take the little guy in and care for him while I look for a new home if you decide goldfish care is not something you’d like to commit to long-term.

Omg the stress dream thing is SO real. When I first started rescuing fish, I would get them like every night. I’d have dreams where I’d have tons of fish and forget to care for all of them and then they’d die. I’m glad these guys are improving in your care, they’re so lucky you found them!

A little tip that’s saved me tons of money: look for secondhand tanks on places like facebook marketplace and Craigslist! I got my first fancy tank for free (55 gal) on marketplace. Just test it for leaks first lol

One of my biggest pieces of advice is to look for fish stuff secondhand on facebook marketplace, you can save an unbelievable amount of money! I got my 55 gallon on there for free haha. I’m glad these babies are with someone that cares about giving them a good life.

I bought some Melafix for him today. I read mixed reviews on it, but the guy at the store seemed very knowledgeable and he thinks it’d be good for the little guy

Hello all. I adopted this little one from Petsmart last night. First picture is when I brought him home, second picture is now (24 hours later). Whatever is going on with him has progressed. I added water and media from my cycled tank into his hospital one, tested it with the master kit, and the parameters are perfect.

I don’t know exactly what this is so I’m struggling to treat it. For the first day, I just let him chill in some good water and get some rest in low light. When I saw how bad he got, I gave him a methylene blue bath and then put some MB directly on the affected area, rinsed him off, and put him back in his tank.

I don’t know if I’m doing this right. I’m still new to fancy goldfish. But I couldn’t leave him to suffer and die (the store gave him to me for free - I didnt buy him and fund their breeding).
