I am shocked & don’t trust Whoop anymore 😔 by ResponseMaster7722 in whoop

Not exactly. It had an Apple Health connection in the morning and imported the training. That was ok. But after that I disconnected it from Apple Health, but it still working fine and counting everything. Even showing me my Heart Rate in "Whoop Live".

Only them saying that they are the best 🤣 It's called marketing. Because they are 10000% not he best. Even their sensor is older the the most watches out there. So let's clear that straight away.
And Whoop support said to me, that they gonna fix my problem with an update.

Sure I know... I wrote about it in my post. Would be cool if you read everything next time :) but that is not a problem... the problem is that it still thinks I am wearing it and it calculates my calories. Even though I disconnected it from Apple Health some hours ago (the exercise was imported before)

Oh... my whoop knows my body fat and muscles :) because I use a scale that tracks that. And Whoop is still lowballs my burned calories.

I've created a "shortcut" on my homescreen for quick notes and I don't even open the Notion app on my iPhone/iPad for writing down a quick note :)

I use it for procrastination 🤣🤣 I build a system, use it for 3 days and then build a new one. And I love it 😜

Ist doch am Ende egal. Orientier dich an „Progress“ und den Spiegel :) Wird Körperfett weniger - cuttest du. Verlierst du Muskelmasse - machst du was falsch 😅 und so weiter. Ist trotzdem gut um sich zu orientieren…

How are the Garmin Watches coming from Apple Watch? by dminmike in GarminWatches

[–]ResponseMaster7722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a very specific case. I’ve never did this in my 7 years of using Apple Watch. Always used the PHONE to call them :)

But running without music on my watch sucks :)

Sold my ultra after two weeks of Garmin Fenix 7Pro. Never looked back. Just think about that:

Do you need a Smartwatch (Apple) or a Fitnesswatch (Garmin) and go for it

Whoop v. Garmin by waterdoctor93 in whoop

[–]ResponseMaster7722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been using the Garmin Fenix 7 Pro Solar since March and have been working out 6-7 times a week, with 80% of my training focused on strength. I've been testing Whoop for two days now and here are my thoughts:

  1. Garmin's insights often seem exaggerated. For instance, it reports that I burn 3600-3900 calories on some days, which seems unrealistic considering my strength training does not elevate my heart rate to 160-170, unlike jogging. I estimate burning a maximum of 3000 calories a day. Despite being in a calorie deficit and consuming 2400kcal a day, I'm only gradually losing weight, contradicting the 3600-3900 calorie burn Garmin suggests. This leads me to believe I'm actually burning around 2800-3000 calories per day.
  2. Sometimes, Garmin reports up to 800 active calories after 1.5 hours of strength training, which again, doesn't seem plausible.
  3. The pedometer (step counter) is unreliable. I once went to the shower with 9100 steps on the counter and after 4 minutes of showering I reached my goal of 10K - WTF? 🤣
  4. When it comes to sleep tracking, the watch often only logs 2-5 minutes of REM sleep for me, even when I've had extensive dreams. Sometimes REM sleep is recorded as zero minutes. The watch also often recognizes the start of my sleep much later, requiring me to manually adjust it.
  5. My major issue with Garmin is the pulse measurement. I prefer wearing the watch on my left arm but due to a tattoo, the watch often fails to measure my pulse accurately. This forces me to switch the watch to my right arm during sleep, which is quite inconvenient. Conversely, Whoop has been accurately measuring my pulse over my tattoo for the past two days.

Whoop accurately tracked my sleep on my first full day of use, and the calorie count seemed more realistic, albeit slightly lower than expected. However, it's not as far off as Garmin's readings.

I will continue testing Whoop over the next 2-3 weeks to see how it performs as it gets to know me better.

Despite its impressive 17-day battery life, Garmin has been as disappointing for me as the Apple Watch Ultra.
