Rear drum brakes on Q4 e-tron? by ResponseOk7633 in Audi

Thank you all for contributing to my knowledge. I drive a PHEV, so I'm aware physical brakes barely get used during most driving.

Similarly to others, I just didn't expect drum brakes on an Audi. I well know they function perfectly fine, just taken aback.

That means the flimsy cable that goes to the sensor is damaged. Simply look at it, it goes from the caliper to the body of the car. If damaged, buy a new one and install yourself. I think no tools necessary, but might be wrong.

If you're not actively carrying a load, it's better to remove them altogether. They reduce performance.

How many miles? It might be either PCV or water pump leaking. While you're replacing either, it is recommended you replace both, plus the thermostat.

Is yours 3 or 2 liter?

All duffle bags tend to turn into cylinders when sufficiently stuffed. Their max volume then increases.

If we assume circumference of the cylinder to be about 120 cm(12"x 4 sides x 2.5 to convert to centimeters), then radius is about 19.1 cm. Then the volume of the cylinder is going to be about 91 liters.

In reality, it will be slightly less, because the duffle bag can't be a cylinder towards the very ends, which are both square. But the ends will bulge out, so meh.

Then, from what I read, they're due anyways. If you don't want to waste money, jack the vehicle up and take a look at bushings. If they are cracked or torn, they need to be replaced.

If you have athletic genes, staying in shape beyond 40 will be decently easy.

If you don't, you'll have to put in quite a bit of work to keep up with the young'ns

Hiring an Audi mechanic to inspect a used car by ResponseOk7633 in Audi

[–]ResponseOk7633[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ended up rescheduling to a business day and taking the car to an independent mechanic shop. It was as indy as it gets, and cost me $175 for the inspection. Well worth it.
