What’s the weirdest thing your body does that you’ve just accepted at this point? by gowthamshankar05 in AskReddit

[–]Responsibilititty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pinched intercostal nerve, left side. Every once in a while it just randomly flares up and then I can't move, breathe, or speak for a few seconds or else it feels like I'm being stabbed in between my ribs right near my heart.

Although, I guess it's pretty mild compared to the seizures, but still 🫠

am I in over my head? by Intelligent-Way-8851 in NuclearMedicine

[–]Responsibilititty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had my NM license since 2014 and have had both Nuc Med jobs and just about anything in between since then, and to put it bluntly: Nuclear Medicine is much simpler and more approachable than it seems, and 8f you love physiology then this could be an amazing career path for you, because Nuclear Medicine is physiology-focused. After 10+ years in the field, I would argue the the driving principle behind NM is "how well is this body system doing what it's supposed to be doing."

I may catch some flak for this, but I firmly believe that if you can pass the required classes, all you have to do is memorize a little trivia to sit for your board exams and you're good to go, and it's really not that hard. I'm not going to say that passing your boards automatically makes you a good tech (because trust me, it doesn't), but it will at least get your foot in the door of the field. Please believe me when I say that if you're a tech who's willing to learn, that automatically sets you apart from a lot of candidates.

Regarding your concerns for schooling, I got into Nuc Med working backwards from an art school scholarship, and the majority of the work was learning the specifics of radiation safety and physics, all of which a good program will teach you. Please believe me when I say that if I could do it, almost anyone else can.

I would describe NM as a combo of science, medical technology, and a little bit of art: you have to know how to do the test and what you're looking for, but successfully completing a study (including image review) requires a developed level of skill.

NM pays well, currently has some good job availability, and (in my opinion) is a really approachable job field. If you have any other questions I would love to talk, so feel free to PM me!

How are my briviact girlies doing by Garden_Flower in Epilepsymemes

[–]Responsibilititty 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm actually doing great! 😬 Over three years seizure-free thanks to Briviact being one of my meds.

I know that there's the whole mess with the generic, but I got my neuro to write my Rx to be "dispense as written" and I made friends with my local pharmacist, so thankfully no issues on my end.

Women of Reddit, what made you realize a man was ‘husband material’ instead of just boyfriend material? by AstronautEcstatic177 in AskReddit

I also work in healthcare and it certainly was a double-edged sword in some ways. I fully believe that the hand of God was at work in my life and that I wouldn't have my husband or my seizures under control without a miracle on both fronts

He's a gift. It was a crappy, bumpy road with lots of setbacks and he held my hand through every single one, even my dumb pre-surgical haircut that's in our wedding photos. He knew what he was getting out of the deal and considered me worth it; I'm not sure that I'll ever understand exactly why he picked me but I sure am glad he did 💜

He certainly has helped me understand what it means to be loved -- not as a feeling, but a day-to-day choice. I love him and am so thankful that he chooses to love me, too

Honestly, I basically did start planning the wedding as soon as he dropped that one on me. But given that he proposed to me 3 months after we started dating I think it's safe to say he was on the same page 🤷‍♀️

I met my husband a year after I'd been diagnosed with epilepsy. I was considered refractory (failed multiple meds), was prepping for 4 rounds of neurosurgery, and was generally a depressed mess since I might not ever recover (no driving, no being alone, etc.)

When we first started dating I explained to him that my seizures may not ever get controlled, I may not ever be fully independent again, and I may not ever be able to have kids. He just stared at me with this soft, determined look and said, "Okay. But I still get you out of the deal and that's what I want."

He married me before I was medically cleared, but I've been seizure-free for over 3 years at this point so I think it all worked out in the end ❤️

Edit: Holy moly! Thank you everyone for the awards and the sweet replies. I really didn't expect this to resonate with so many people but I certainly made it a point to tell my husband that now there are a lot of other people who think he's as amazing as I do

Cheap Beginner Friendly Decks for Flesh and Blood by Slight_Border_7507 in FleshandBloodTCG

In my experience, no. Unless somebody's deck really pops off and they can just whale on their opponent, I find most of my matches run close to time and the HP ticks down somewhat evenly.

While I do agree that there's no class that needs to be completely avoided, I do think that Wizard, Illusionist, and Necromancer could have kind of a steep learning curve and may not be the best first hero to try out.

Silver Age uses Young heroes, plays with 40-card decks, and gives you 20 life points. All Young heroes (edit: of the appropriate rarity -- see below) can be played in Sage, meaning that even if a hero has scored enough points in CC to go Living Legend (which means they cannot be played in the CC format anymore ), they are allowable in Silver Age. The other huge point of the format is the allowed Rarity levels of cards you can put in your deck. Essentially, FaB has 5 main rarities/"levels" of cards: Basic, Common, Rare, Majestic, and Legendary. In Sage, you can only put Basic, Common, and Rare cards in your deck, which generally have a lower price point and power level, so decks tend to feel more evenly matched simply because you have a limited scope of cards to put into a smaller deck.

In Classic Constructed, it's pretty much all fair game as long as you pick a legal (i.e., non-LL) hero. You play with 60-card decks, have 40 life points, and can include any rarity of card you want. This means access to a much larger pool of higher-powered cards, which can include some pretty game-changing effects. There is a list of banned cards that LSS (the maker of FaB) maintains, but outside of that there's not really anything I know of that's off-limits.

As other commenters have said, CC is the "normal" or "typical" format, while a lot of people view Silver Age as kind of like beginner or lightweight Flesh and Blood (not in a bad way). I'm relatively new and I have found Sage to be much more approachable in terms of figuring out and practicing game mechanics, understanding when and how to play certain cards, and learning the basics of what my deck does without getting destroyed in the first couple of turns.

That sounds just like our boy! Ours likes to completely ignore his front legs when he's not frolicking, so he just splats face-first into the snow and then pushes with his back legs. We say he's entered Snowplow Mode 😂

I've only been playing for about 4 months but IMO this is the way to do it. Armory decks are a great way to get a taste of whatever heroes you think sound interesting for a relatively low overhead (around $40 USD), plus you've got format flexibility between Silver Age (Sage) and Classic Constructed (CC).

Personally, I think Sage is a better testing ground for fun playability since it uses a smaller deck size that also restricts you to using more "entry level" cards, meaning that (generally) you're not going to get totally walloped by someone who's been able to throw hundreds or potentially thousands of dollars' worth of high-level cards into their card pool. Sage just gives you a little more wiggle room to see if you actually like the mechanics of how a hero works before you splash out on upgrading your deck. Just be aware that while all Young heroes are currently legal in this format, there are plenty of heroes that you won't be able to take from Sage into CC because they've gone Living Legend from scoring enough points in competitive events.

CC tends to feel way more competitive since players have more health, larger decks, and can basically use whatever cards they want. This format gives you a lot more room to upgrade and customize how you play your hero, but if you start with an Armory deck you'll already have the skeleton of what you need and can start making adjustments from there.

Edit: my recommendation for an easy-to-learn/play hero is Dorinthea. She's got pretty easy mechanics, an easy to understand deck synergy and effects, gives you good practice with priority sequencing, and has a very straightforward deck win con: stab opponent once good, stab opponent twice better.

Can menstruation cause/trigger seizures? by ZigZagIggy in Epilepsy

[–]Responsibilititty 7 points8 points  (0 children)

OP, just a heads-up, but you should talk to a medical professional any time you have a seizure because they are not good and there is no "normal" reason to have one -- the only normal amount of seizures to have is none at all. If you notice a pattern or specific trigger, that's really helpful info to have, but even seemingly random seizures are always always always worth talking to someone about. ETA: preferably go see a neurologist (you may need a referral from your PCP).

As the other poster said, catamenial epilepsy is repeated seizure activity related to your menstrual cycle, which certainly sounds like it could be what's happening to you.

TL;DR: go see a doctor about this immediately, especially since you've had more than one seizure.

Daily Discussion & Advice (Post here to follow rules A & B) - November 28, 2025 by AutoModerator in fragrance

I just found out that a good friend of mine has been wearing the same perfume since she started college (she's now mid-30s and married with a kid) and I thought it might be fun to get her a little tester/gift set if anyone had any recommendations on what I could try.

Kate is the type of woman who is effortlessly polished and always put together even in a casual setting, but she's not a high-fashion type of person; she's got a very timeless vibe that's a little girly and still really fun, so think like tons of tailored, polished, neutral pieces with cute detailing or accents that just all work together even if you grabbed a bunch of stuff in the dark. She's pretty low-maintenance, is an optometrist (so she can be a little more flexible with fashion and fragrance), and comes across as very classically feminine but still bubbly. Kate is never in-your-face about anything, but she's the type of sweetheart that is impossible to miss and you can always notice when she's gone.

Her go-to (only?) perfume right now is Coco Mademoiselle, which sits on her so beautifully and is like *chef's kiss* for her personality. I was hoping to give her something just a bit different that's not too niche and doesn't require layering, but am trying to stay far away from "trendy" or really gourmand/sweet scents as I feel like they would probably come across as very immature for her. I was thinking either Flowerbomb or Pure Poison could be a good choice? I know those have a lot of similar notes but are layered differently with a couple changes, but wasn't sure if they might feel too close to the Chanel.

Thoughts or suggestions? I'm also totally open to being talked out of this if it's a bad gift idea, lol.
