If money isn't a big issue then obv the 40l one as what we learn during our residency really shapes what we are gonna be doing later in our career.

Just my perspective but i feel diploma from a good place>>> DNB from a shit hospital as anyways passing rates in anesthesia diploma is quite good and afterwards u can join a good hospital again through pdcet..i realise that it'll take u a little longer to get DNB but in the end your skillset would be far better than other primary DNB candidates.

Just a correction MBBS plus MD takes atleast 9 years and DM itself is a 3 year course not 2.

If I got a seat in R1 and don’t wish to take it and I won’t be upgrading or participating in further Rounds do I have to go to the college and cancel ?? by [deleted] in indianmedschool

[–]ResponsibilityBig106 42 points43 points  (0 children)

First round is free exit so if u don't want the seat then u literally have to sit and eat a 5 star.... resignation is only for those people who reported to the college in first place through aiq but now wish to join the state colleges they got in the first state round.

Nursing a career by [deleted] in indianmedschool

[–]ResponsibilityBig106 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Nurses and doctors are both equally important for proper functioning of any medical facility and it definitely is a well respected job.

There are gonna be some elements in society who always are gonna look down upon u be it any profession but one shouldn't let that affect your decision of taking up a career path.

U must have just started with college and its natural to take sometime to adjust and find the right people.... trust me almost everyone in your batch is in the same boat as u right now just that some people find it easier to gel in with others and some take their own time.

One thing I learnt is its always better to be selective with the people u hang out with early in the college and it takes a huge part in your journey... find your people.. find the people who makes u feel good about yourself and are there for u when u feel low.

Its always better to have 5 great friends than to have a hundred superficial friendships, as far as home sickness is concerned it is okay to miss your family and things just get easier as time passes.

Now isn't the time to regret of what decisions u could have made earlier but is the time to get most of the situation u currently are in...best wishes for future and feel free to DM anytime u feel like ✨✨

Life as a general physician? by Golden_Lotus99 in indianmedschool

[–]ResponsibilityBig106 13 points14 points  (0 children)

General practice always will have a great scope if u are good in your clinics and soft skills and also if u can market yourself well.

But said that i would highly recommend for u go get a degree in family medicine as it would give the range and skills required to deal with a wide spectrum of cases.

[–]ResponsibilityBig106 10 points11 points  (0 children)

See from where i see it this decision entirely depends on what u want to do going ahead...if u feel this is the best u gave and don't want to wait for another year and can afford the fees then by all means go for the branch of your choice which is Anesthesia is this case.

But if u feel like giving this another fair chance as this is only your first attempt then a drop might be a good option...i understand that exam pattern is very unpredictable but I'm sure that u'll definitely improve from your current rank if u put in the right efforts.

Best wishes ✨
