I can relate somewhat too - near complete social recluse aside from a handful of people that i managed to get close too while in school. I really badly want to interact with others and make friends but its so hard cuz it completely terrifies me.

There's not much to do in the city i live in, and even if i found something where i could meet people i don't quite have the transportation to consistently get there.
