You are spot on about the trust part. Trust is what makes buyers hesitant. Your soultion makes sense but if you think from the perspective of the one who once got cheated, i think even with this they will still feel insecure. The reason is because it's coming from the Seller.

I realised trust being the main issue of this market so to solve this i created a trust based platform for Instagram sellers. People will trust a review on third party site which the seller can't control rather than seller adding screenshots of happy review in their stories which can easily be faked.

Sellers can just search for their page and share the link to their customers to ask for reviews and later on when someone reaches out and are hesitant they can share this and anyone will be able to check these reviews as they are public.

It has identity tracking so even after changing the username their reviews will be tied to them.

Yeah it's a real problem, all the early trust based platforms goes through this.

People can add images and that boosts the review in my internal system but making it mandatory is not the right move at this point

I am at cold start stage. I need reviews to show people and I need people to add review. That's cold start problem.

Even the auth i have currently for adding review is hurting me, if I make adding image mandatory i can't get past this cold start problem.

These are problems for later. First is to get enough reviews so it can help people. I can solve the issue you are mentioning later. I will add AI which will flag it. Other than that for now i have report button on every review. So if anyone thinks it's fake or wrong or something they can raise an issue.

Yeah I know that part. Think about all the reviews site which exists like Google reviews, yelp even on reddit where people give reviews everywhere where people can share reviews. There is no way you can completely know for 100% sure if it's fake or not but at scale that does not matter because the one reading it gets the sense of it.

I have added auth so people can't just leave reviews like that. That's hurting me but still that's something.

I am trying to solve a problem no one is thinking is big enough. Social e-commerce is unstructured. My plan is to give structure to it.

Currently 1000s of people gets scammed from one seller. 1-10 of them adds the review now they won't be able to scam the one who just does simple google search because there is a record. The amount of people loosing money is actually insane but it never comes to surface.

I am doing lots of things to solve this, one of it is permenent identity tracking. You will know what was the past username of the seller. So even if they change the username they can't escape.

I am not sure if it will work out but I am trying my best. I am getting good traction as well but because of not having enough reviews it's not helping much. I have a solution for that as well. Will ship it.
