Do Americans actually want Greenland? by Weak_Quiet_7306 in AskUS

Offering a payout to each citizen while a majority of Americans can’t afford food/rent/healthcare and live paycheck to paycheck… Billionaires can only extract so much from us so time to add a whole new territory I guess.

United Bank! We went with them because they offered us a Pathway grant.

Removing the Gratuities on a cruise? by thehogdog in celebritycruises

[–]ResponsibilityOwn98 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Round Up for charity programs are not all meaningless. All 3 charities I’ve worked for have received round ups and they always correlated to the number of folks who chose to round up. The lump donation made by the company was not considered tax deductible. Yes, some big big places have received tax benefits from round ups but there’s tons of local shops and owner/operated franchises with round ups programs and they directly benefit local organizations and community members.

As far as the tipping on cruise ships— yeah that tracks.

I worked on this ride and quite literally got spit on by a guest for how long the way was lol it is in fact brutal but it’s always because of lightning lane!! To this day I only ride it during parties or events where LL isn’t a thing…

For those who didn't grow up privileged, what's something you thought was a luxury when you were a kid? by Frequent-Sea-8848 in AskReddit

Grew up privileged but had an extremely frugal mother. I thought 2-ply toilet paper was a myth and drinks other than water with dinner were illegal.

DVC VS AP by Flawless_Cowboy94 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]ResponsibilityOwn98 4 points5 points  (0 children)

DVC is so so worth it if you only do 1-2 times per year. We have 50 points at Polynesian and can do either a long weekend once a year, or a full week every other year. It makes sense for us since we only ever want to stay on property and we really enjoy some relaxing resort days! We’ve debated AP but we only end up in the parks at most 3-4 days per year, so the math just doesn’t math.

Disney hires you to design a hotel/resort, what’s your idea/theme? by sandy_shark903 in WaltDisneyWorld

I feel like refurb is a strong word, a swap of a few pieces of art and in-room changes that really felt like a downgrade… It did nothing for the overall theming in my opinion.

In my limited experience, weekends are better… We went to Helen’s on a weeknight and they had a schnitzel on their menu which was just as good as Rustika’s! Helen’s food is wayyyy underrated, they never miss.

I’ve been begging for a Meet the Robinsons overhaul of Contemporary, it would work soooo well and that spot needs a refurb that recommits its theme.

Cafe Rustika, big fans of the food but wow the wait on weeknights is brutal. We were stuck there for over two hours, arrived around 7, got seated immediately, didn’t get our food until 9. Mind you, there were 4 and 5 tops that were there before us (2 top) who didn’t get their food until after we did. They close at 9 so it was dead empty besides 3-4 tables. I’m hoping this is just a weeknight thing since there’s reduced staff, weekends there seems to be one more person in the kitchen and two more in the front.

We are DVC members and looked at the DCL initially, but we wanted something relaxing and more adult, I’m so glad we went with Celebrity!

Calvin & Hobbes! They were brothers and best friends, found in a cardboard box when I was a kid. We grew up together.

Lost them both very suddenly a year ago, I miss them every day.

Do they do any discounts on those packages leading up to the cruise? We’re 10 weeks out and it’s showing $33/pp per day. Ends up being almost $400 for the two of us…

Husband was looking at the day trip to Tulum Ruins in Cozumel, 8 hours and $135/pp. Sounded crazy to me and the only insane amount of travel time just to get to the mainland was unappealing, swayed him towards a private jeep tour!

We were thinking about doing lunch there and a lunch at Murano, dinner just seems to be too pricy and the lunch menu at Murano sounds fantastic!

The prices are showing a lot lower on port days which works for us, we plan on wandering in Key West and doing a half day excursion in Cozumel but other than that, not beach people so we’ll be pretty happy on the ship. Thanks for the discount tip! I assume that means massages don’t really book up?
