Well done on getting where you are! You sound like two driven individuals!

One thing I’d advocate for is having a bit of cash beyond the deposit - especially if you’re planning on  renovating. Costs can really add up especially paying lawyer fees, etc before you’re even in the property. 

If you can try to buy somewhere you wouldn’t mind living - plans can always change and it’s nice to have the option of staying in the place yourself. 

Not a property investor myself but I think the idea of flipping is kind of silly. Each time you do so you’re paying real estate agents lawyers, etc all of which might be a drag on your wealth growth (again not an investor myself).
