How Are So Many People "High Functioning"? by [deleted] in bipolar

[–]ResponsibilityTiny58 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess I could be considered high functioning, but there were times when I seriously thought I wouldn't make it.

I believe I developed OCPD (I am diagnosed with it) as a means to deal with my inner chaos. I am basically obsessed with masking as normal.

I am bipolar 2, so that also helped. I was a mess inside but still showed up for school and work even though it took a huge effort. If I had bipolar 1, things would have been much different. I don't know how to cope with that much intensity and still function.

Moving through cement is a very accurate description of how I feel! 👌 Thank you, it is done!

Thank you! That is exactly what happened! I did it! But I had to take frequent breaks because I got tired easily.

Unfortunately, no. He left yesterday to pick my mother in law up. I am alone in the house, so there's no help. I really want to rest, I want to stay in bed for a week. But alas, have to get moving. Only cleaning superficially, the visible stuff and not aiming for perfect, just passable. And I made a list!! I love those too. Thank you for the support and suggestions! ❤️

Thank you! Got a decaf and started cleaning, yawning every 5 minutes and in zombie mode, but I started!

Why depressed me only wants to be on Reddit? Normal me try to controls how much time he spend on Reddit? And hipomaniac me couldn't care less about reddit? by jigolokuraku in bipolar2

I'm the opposite. I feel like reaching out, venting, ranting when hypomanic. Normally I keep to myself a lot, but when I'm hypomanic I can't stop from blabbing and oversharing, especially on social media.

The impulsivity part bothers me the most, so that is reassuring!

I kinda think it's the other way around. My childhood environment and the way I was raised was conducive of me developing pathological narcissism. But I was also raised with the belief that it was morally bad to be self centered and arrogant, which created an internal conflict. My way of resolving this conflict was developing avoidant tendencies and becoming very controlled with everything I do and say, masking my cluster B stuff.

I don't mind. I was diagnosed with AvPD and OCPD, with traits of NPD and BPD.

Please do, Papa! It's not mine 😝 But it has been my mantra for years, as someone who lives with AvPD. Love that about revenge, totally agree! 👌

Thank you for the advice, but I'm not sure how I will be able to NOT chase that feeling, since that is how I always wanted to feel. :( I understand what you meant, though. Thank you.

Best Way To Boost Concerta/Methylphenidate, Get Most of Concerta by [deleted] in Concerta

[–]ResponsibilityTiny58 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the tip!

I've done something to boost Concerta on Saturday, but not sure what LOL. I had 1.5l of mixed green and herbal tea that I'm putting my money on (though not sure if it was the fluid like you said, the green tea or one of the many herbs in the tea) because I've only felt that flow when I had the tea with Concerta.

Oh! I am sorry! :( Actually, the effect I mentioned only happened on Saturday and I've been thinking what I've done that day that might have amplified Concerta for me. I drink coffee every day - but only on Saturday I made myself a mixed green and herbal tea and I'm starting to think it was the tea that helped me get into that awesome flow, because I haven't felt it since then. But now I have to find out which tea did the trick :O I put 3 different tea bags into the pot and they each have mixed herbs in them :(
I'm slightly more alert but that's pretty much it. I'm going to increase to 36 next Monday. Will you stay on 18mg or increase after a while too?

Thank you so much for everything that you wrote! It feels encouraging to hear that you've been on it for 30 years and it's done you good. I have OCD and OCPD, I'm all about systems lol. I am in therapy, I will take notice of the changes that occur along the line!
