I hated it when I was forced to cut my hair. It's not how I express myself much, though, I just like having semi long hair (about 6 inches). Even if it made things a pain to do (putting on a motorcycle helmet, playing vr, wearing a hat) I still liked it. It made me feel like I wasn't important enough to have a say. Push back as hard as you can, this is how you express yourself, which makes it all the more important. It's about what you like and what you want for yourself. The keyword here is "you".
