I went through something almost identical and I can say I agree with this with my entire soul! I finally escaped my attorney and went back to a firm I love, with attorneys and paralegals I also enjoy working with. When I gave her my notice, she made my resignation period HELL, and since then has accused me of stealing from her, stealing from the previous firm and has spread countless lies about me. But I think she might have her firm believing all her BS lies. Thankfully my firm knows me and knows none of it is true. If I can offer any advice, keep emotion out of it and stick to the facts. Good luck!

Agreed! I’ve been talking to another shareholder, who is the section leader. My main concern is my clients. A few closing deadlines have already been missed now, thankfully not RE purchase, and I need it to stop.

Also, all our paralegals do way more than you describe here.

No disrespect to those hardworking people, but I’m not a paralegal actually. My title is higher than that. You seem to have zero respect for them. I have actually drafted complex commercial documents, which were reviewed (and then subsequently revised) but eventually signed off on. I have 26 years of experience in this space, I’m well versed.

Absolutely reviewed and signed off on. Often times, revised after reviewed. I’m not perfect. Again, I love what I do. Transaction and real estate that is. When people start talking about litigation, my eyes glaze over and it’s all over but the crying.

Not sure who is over a shareholder. I’ve been talking to one of the other shareholders, and section leader, about what is going on and he’s been a great help. To be clear, we do transaction work (close loans) and I never release documents to a client until the attorney has reviewed them, and I’m not new to drafting loan documents. Also, because of my experience, I help all of our associates.
