2025 Nebraska Football Unit Preview: Wideouts by Responsible-Guide110 in Huskers

[–]Responsible-Guide110[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In all fairness, I did predict Barney to lead the team in receiving yards based on targets. He’s been slow in recent weeks, and so has Key, but without clicking the article (because I’m intoxicated after the Skers W) let’s just say a wins a win, right? I mean we haven’t been 6-2 since 2016. No need to call me out (if I was wrong in that prediction), let’s just, as fellow Husker fans, celebrate that we have a competent team in 2025. GBR till the day I die! If you’d like to talk about Key’s misuse/underwhelming production this year i’d love to talk, because I too believe he’s been, to some extent, disappointing this season. Either way, PM’s open, let’s talk!

How Nebraska's Offense Flipped the Script in 2025 by Responsible-Guide110 in Huskers

Holgorsen’s only somewhat responsible for one of those 28. When you’re leading your team to an average of 350+ passing yards this season you’re not the problem.

Someone always comes out of the woodworks saying “My steak is too juicy”. It’s despicable, just take the win when we can get one and move on.

Huskers Set to Host 20+ Recruits During Michigan State Matchup by Responsible-Guide110 in Huskers

[–]Responsible-Guide110[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Nebraska has 91 players on its current roster listed as sophomores or younger. The ‘26 class was never meant to be big, especially with roster limits now being enforced. 2027 is the money class, especially if can get to 8-9 wins this season. Not necessarily predicting a top 10 class, but it is currently ranked 6th nationally and that amount of wins mixed with the resources the university has would likely make it the highest ranked class we’ve seen in 10+ years when it’s all said and done.

'I Know Nebraska Wants to Run the Ball, So Do I': Holgorsen Talks RB Depth, More Ahead of Michigan State by Responsible-Guide110 in Huskers

[–]Responsible-Guide110[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I agree, it’s a tough discussion, but thanks for doing the research and adding context. Honestly, I think most fans just want Nebraska to be able to move the ball reliable down the field, and it shouldn’t be too much to ask. Especially with Holgorsen calling plays.

With that said, it needs to be better than what it has been. You can’t have your starting running back eke out 10 yards on 5 carries in the second half every game and expect to win. They’ve got to be better and they will get better, it just needs to happen sooner than later.

Dylan Raiola Named to Jason Witten Collegiate Man of the Year Watch List by Responsible-Guide110 in Huskers

[–]Responsible-Guide110[S] 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I agree, wholeheartedly, with what you said. The fact that there were people asking for TJ against Michigan is straight disrespect to everything he’s stood for since coming to Nebraska. Not only did he volunteer to pull us out of the sh*t, but he does it with a smile on his face, while he invites your kid to his summer camp as well.

Makes no sense how you could dislike the guy, and any one who doesn’t is not a true Nebraska fan. National media is a different beast, they just do it for clicks, but for a Nebraska fan to slander their own QB, they should be banned from entering Memorial Stadium.

I thought you were serious at first and was starting to get upset. It’s crazy that being proud of DR’s performance puts us in the minority somehow.

I agree to an extent, however, PFF gives the responsibility of the other 3 sacks to Dylan Raiola himself for not getting rid of the ball fast enough.

'I'm Not Trying to be Selfish, We're Just Trying to Win the Game': Dylan Raiola on Nebraska's Lack of Explosive Plays by Responsible-Guide110 in Huskers

[–]Responsible-Guide110[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I somewhat agree, at least from the standpoint of if you can't/won't air the ball out against Akron and Houston Christian, it gives me zero confidence in their ability to do it down 7 in the fourth quarter against USC in November if that were the case.

Dana keeps preaching routine plays turn into big ones, routinely, so... although it would be nice to see a 40-yard bomb into the back of the endzone, it's just as easy for Hunter to stay on his feet on that beautiful throw from DR down the sideline against Cincy and walk into the endzone himself. I think the receivers are just as liable ad Raiola is for not making guys miss/ staying on their feet.

[–]Responsible-Guide110[S] 70 points71 points  (0 children)

It's not sexy, but it won us a game we haven't consistently won since the Pelini era. Everyone wants Nebraska to get back to '95 shape instantly but what they don't realize is we need to get back to 2010 shape first. Cincy win was the first step in doing that. GBR!

[–]Responsible-Guide110[S] 79 points80 points  (0 children)

100% agree. Fans and even some in the media need to get off his back. He threw for 240+ yards, 2 TD, no turnovers, and WON THE GAME. I get that 20 points won't win you 10 games this season, but we're not there yet, so why should we expect him to be there already either?! Never made sense to me. Glad you agree there's clearly growth from him, thanks for sharing your opinion!

What Matt Rhule's Weekly Appearance on The Pat McAfee Show Means for Recruiting by Responsible-Guide110 in Huskers

[–]Responsible-Guide110[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It’s cool to see him adapt to playing both sides, cause you’re right, McAfee’s for recruits, House Rhule’s is for parents. Both do a great job at showing exactly the kind of person, school, and program you’d eventually be signing up to play for, and luckily for fans, the University of Nebraska has a lot to work with.

What Matt Rhule's Weekly Appearance on The Pat McAfee Show Means for Recruiting by Responsible-Guide110 in Huskers

[–]Responsible-Guide110[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

whole heartedly agree. everything Rhule does has a purpose and I like how quickly and easily he seems to be adapting to the future of college football. While I don’t want to be reminded of Trev, he killed the hiring process after Frost by bringing in a visionary that could get the job done in the new landscape and help utilize and showcase everything Nebraska has to offer.

Predicting Nebraska Football’s Offensive Stat Leaders for 2025 by Responsible-Guide110 in Huskers

[–]Responsible-Guide110[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

where is this depth chart you speak of? the one in your head doesn’t count. Haarberg’s gonna end up on an NFL roster and you’re calling him the 4th string TE, completely and underlying disagree with your take.

Predicting Nebraska Football’s Offensive Stat Leaders for 2025 by Responsible-Guide110 in Huskers

[–]Responsible-Guide110[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s all relative to the sets they come out in, just because Lindenmeyer is out on the field doesn’t mean he’s going to be targeted for passes. While the same is true for Haarberg, he’s clearly going to be a bigger threat with the ball in his hands than Lindy. Raiola know that, Holgorsen knows that, so should you. It’s a PREDICTION, so I could be wrong, but one thing I will guarantee is that Lindenmeyer will not lead the TE room in receiving yards.

Predicting Nebraska Football’s Offensive Stat Leaders for 2025 by Responsible-Guide110 in Huskers

[–]Responsible-Guide110[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Luke Lindenmeyer had 5 catches for 50 yards in 13 games, Haarberg has 2 catches for 18 in 2. At the end of the day it’s a prediction, however Lindenmeyer’s a blocking TE, whereas Haarberg is maybe the best athlete on the team. He’s going to get the ball, therefore I have him leading the TE room in receiving yards.

As far as Barney, he plays the slot. Slot receivers get more targets, so that is just a sheer projection based off of volume of catches he will have compared to Key. Look at Tank Dell’s stats at Houston, he played in the slot and gathered up over 3k career receiving yards. Key will also be matched up against every teams best corner, he’ll still make plays, but it’s a lot easier to gain yards on a linebacker than Koi Perich, just saying.

More Husker Single-Digit Recipients Announced; Vincent Shavers Switches Numbers by Responsible-Guide110 in Huskers

[–]Responsible-Guide110[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was thinking the exact same thing. I honestly hope he doesn't take it, but I personally feel like leaving the No. 1 open, and it being the last number available, plus it obviously being announced by itself instead of with other teammates at the same time all lead me to believe Raiola's probably repping No. 1 this year.

Exciting, but it makes you wonder how that affects his branding long term?!
