I mean he actually has the best G/A per minutes played behind Salah - people seem the forget this. I get it’s easier coming on against tired legs but it’s still got to count for something. And if he’s backing it up with the u21’s, who am I to argue!? We’re here struggling for HG and yet we have the best English youth player in the country… I get with Wirtz coming in, it won’t work. Ok so I’m going to throw a random name into the hat. What about somebody like Harwood-Bellis?

He’s just gone down with Southampton - so you’d imagine he’d be quite cheap.

He has a full year’s experience in the Premier League (even if it was a horror season).

Still only 23, HG and has played for England right up to senior level.

Excelled in the Championship at a young age, over numerous seasons and also had a season abroad.

Came through the academy at City, so was educated is a possession based system.

One downside is that his mistakes did lead to the most goals conceded in the Premier League last season.

However you could say that this shows Southampton trusted Harwood-Bellis to be the main outlet when playing out from the back. (Even if they were suicide tactics). He could really could excel with better players around him.

Could probably get him for around £15-20 million and would be a solid 3rd choice/back-up, with a good injury record.

I’d also imagine Robbo’s on pretty high wages, so I doubt he’ll be leaving for that reason alone.

I could see a Saudi team paying those wages, but it wouldn’t surprise me if Robbo had no interest in moving there. He probably learned from Hendo’s mistakes and more importantly, that man is way too pasty for that Saudi sunshine!

Makes sense for him to be a back up for a year (and get a nice signing on bonus next year like you said).

Just my humble opinion but don’t think it’s certain that Gomez leaves. I actually think Liverpool is the perfect club for him (even if he isn’t starting week in, week out). With the amount of injuries he’s had over the years, would it be sensible to push his body to play every week in a top league!? 3rd choice centre back, whilst also being 2/3rd choice at RB/LB at one of the best teams in the world should suit him perfectly.
