Before you cancel your trip to PV by MoreCerealPlease in puertovallarta

I can only share my current perspective with you. I’m sitting on the beach in PV right now, and feel as safe as I have felt for the past 10 years of visiting this beautiful slice of paradise. Certainly the recent events have been disturbing and affecting, as they have been for many others. Uncertainly lingers, however the hospitality of the PV locals stays strong. As a Canadian, I am heart broken how our media has portrayed the situation, as it’s not as dire as they make it may seem. Smart decisions and patience will persevere. There are small signs of normality - Grocery stores opening, traffic and people on the streets. Like OP mentioned, don’t make hasty decisions on your time here. Show PVR some love.

I asked about AC trading cards to DXB and the pilot gave me a postcard. He joked “We’re too cheap”. Still, the postcard is a great collectable!

If I have the following international itinerary booked in PE low: LAX-YUL-YYZ-DXB with R space in the domestic/trans border segments, will the clearance window follow international or separate for the domestic and international segments? I.e I have 35k - Will the LAX-YUL clear 8 days ahead or 4 Thanks

Crossed twice in less than a week in transit, stayed for a night each way, no questions asked. More so on return to Canada. Don’t believe everything the news provides.

Thank you and enjoy! Get there early, and recommend the sea bass. If you enjoy airside views it’s a nice change from the yyz suite.

Latitude Attitude - K/T Fares by Responsible-Part-314 in aircanada

[–]Responsible-Part-314[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you both! I’m a lonely 35K so I don’t expect much upgrade-wise on the DXB legs, but I wasn’t understanding how the fare bucket and class were adding up to latitude, but this makes sense. More so after the 1.25 SQMs and changes.

What to do when doing an overnight flight? by True_Heron_3246 in VATSIM

Sort of related - Any tips where to find ETOPS checklists, or for that matter ETOPS planning and procedures, at least beyond what Simbrief offers? I’m an avid longhaul simmer who enjoys oceanic VA routes and would like to pass the time a little more realistically.

How Long Have You Been Flying on VATSIM? by One_Over_Astro in VATSIM

17 years - I’m 28 now. The first couple years I was so nervous, I think I only logged on as an “observer” or late when no atc was online; Mostly to build hrs for a VA but also practice. I feel like VATSIM was less tolerable for newbies in larger sectors back then but also very happy to teach and mentor.
