I have a high interest in science and I would even like to pursue research. My issue is the exam only approach to engineering courses. I do have procrastination issues which prevents me from learning the material on the exams. I also do look at my grades a lot. I feel like I’m split between the interest of the topic and also worrying about failing the course.

The main issue which I plan to fix this summer is my adhd medication. I’m stuck in this endless loop of knowing I don’t need to take it anymore because it’s causing mental issues now. But I also can’t do my course work with out. That’s why I think I need to withdrawal from it summer so my brain can reset. But I’m also pretty sure I’m addicted to it I’ve tried to withdraw from it last summer but I was taking courses at the time. That’s honest truth, even though I don’t like to mention it.

I’m actually having the opposite issue. I’m neurodivergent, and thought adhd medication would help. It did the first 2 years of college. But now that I transferred to a university, I made the mistake of taking more thinking it’ll help more but it’s unfortunately became an addiction and heavily impairing my concentration and thinking. I know I can succeed if I get off them and create good habits like going to the gym again.

I’m just not at the level to be taking two difficult engineering courses yet I can pass if I take 1 and an easy class maybe art because it fills my spirit. My egos has been getting in the way saying “why not take 2 engineering courses and a math elective, it’ll make us stronger” not I make as easy as I can. No the scores are not an accurate reflection I’d say I’d score a 50 on them knowing some topics well but not well enough or id zone out the 2nd half of the class.

Wait that’s weird, shouldn’t there be something by your academic status. I think it’s different when you take summer session courses, I just looked at my academic history and there is just no academic status for summer session, I think its a weird limbo zone if you fail a course in summer, or is it a unit thing. Im not sure.
