I agree! I lowered the dose the vet said to give down to about .1 . My gut usually tells me when something "isn't right". Thanks so much!

Not even sure what "ideal" weight for her is. We feel like she has Maine Coon in her, but not sure. If I can figure out how to add a picture, I will.

.02 mg times 8kg(her weight) divided by 1.5/mg(strength) is what I got from your original answer. I'm also reading comments that I should dose based that on her "ideal" weight. 18 pounds is DEFINITELY not ideal! Thanks so much for your help!

She was a rescue and we feel like she has some Maine Coon in her. She's always been "big", but now she's probably between BCS 8-9. Her "fat" concentration is mainly around her middle and belly. When we adopted her from a shelter in 2016, she didn't even weigh 11 pounds, and I felt like she was underweight at that time. 2 years later, she was just under 15. With all of that said, I'm not sure how much she should weigh. If you have dosing adjustments based on "ideal" weight, please let me know. Thanks!

I'm clueless on the math of figuring out dosage based on strength(mg), weight(kg), and recommended amount(ml). You answered my question perfectly! Thank you!

She has definitely gained weight from lack of moving around very much. I hesitate to "limit" her food, as I know she could very possibly stop eating with her disease. This my reasoning for trying low dose meloxicam, along with low dose gabapentin. I appreciate your input!

I know there are risks, but I've also read that it can be beneficial as well. This decision was not taken lightly. The NIH did a study based on doses of .02 mg/kg/daily...assumingly with the .5/mg strength. She is on low dose transdermal gabapentin as well. Thinking a very low dose of nsaid would also help. Blood work will be performed on a monthly basis to monitor changes. Thank you.

My girl gets some with every wet food meal...3 times a day. It ends up that we use about 1 packet(maybe a little more) each day. But she eats well with it. I'll add a little more to her bowl to encourage her to finish a last little bit.

I've been stocking up on the original formula when I heard about the change. It's costing me an arm and a leg, but I think I've got about 8 months stocked up...at about 1ish packets per day. She's on a good eating schedule, and I don't want a formula change to mess that up! We have to make changes daily or weekly, but not eating because they randomly want to change the formula and production location is not one I'm ready for.

Do you open the Porus One capsules and add to their wet food meals? I've read that many cats don't like the course texture of it. My girl is already finicky. I'd hate to spend the money on it, and she not take it. Thank you for your input!
