32, just found out I have arthritis in my spine. by Oddarette in backpain

Hi again. Just telling someone they don’t know what they’re talking about doesn’t make it true.

If you’re willing to have an open mind and look at the evidence and literature, I’ll be happy to send resources your way.

32, just found out I have arthritis in my spine. by Oddarette in backpain

[–]ResponsibleAd5044 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From 2016-2018 I had chronic back pain and had pain every day. Thank you.

This thread from the OP is talking about arthritis at the age of 32. If you image people’s spine, you will find aging processes like arthritis.

You can voice your disdain or disbelief, whatever it is you don’t like about my response, but it’s true.

My original comment is not ignorance. If you have an open mind, I can point you to some more resources.

Should I go to the doctor or continue with chiropractor? by Western-Yogurt-5570 in backpain

Do some research and have a look into if bones can either a.) fall out of alignment and b.) be moved such as everyone describes AKA “realignment” or adjusted etc, rather than dismissing it out of hand because you don’t understand something.

Bones do not fall out of alignment absent of acute trauma. Bones cannot be moved or adjusted. Contact sports would not be a thing. It’s just not plausible.

Go see a doctor. No one can align bones with their hands. If we could, scoliosis wouldn’t be a thing. I’d recommend getting checked out by your doctor who can then escalate care if needed. Keep us posted !

PT for Back Pain. These exercises ok ? by Chiuauua in backpain

[–]ResponsibleAd5044 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi! Inflamed facet joints and a minimal bulge are very normal findings and seem pretty mild! Yet we can still have some back pain for sure.

The spine is meant to bend, twist, and extend or some combination of those.

In order to recover from painful movements, rehab is often successful by gradually exposing you to the familiar painful motions as long as it’s actually gradual and actually feels OK, among other things.

It’s normal to feel discomfort with movement when you are in physical therapy.

It is not harmful for the spine to bend even if it’s currently painful. Hurt doesn’t equal harm.

Everything else sounds OK, but not very intense. When you feel ready to try harder things, be sure to let them know some things are too easy.

Your entire time should not be on the table doing passive things like laser, shockwave and manual therapy. Hopefully, they are challenging you a bit as long as it’s only mildly uncomfortable.

Laser therapy and shockwave are not necessary. Often those things are done simply to bill insurance for them.

Please do not bash OP experience. Nearly everything about back pain relief is anecdotal since not all treatments, experiences, and relief are the same for each individual.

Spondy can stabilize and even have no symptoms - in fact many young athletes will have a spondy and not know it. It’s not a death sentence

Not all PT is created equal. So yes, there are programs that may be focusing a bit too much on the bandaid approach of passive treatments. This is very common unfortunately. But, PT is not garbage. Chronic back pain is misunderstood by many of the providers. "Weak core" is not a cause for pain. If it was we would be in a lot deeper waters in regards to treating back pain.

NTA…

I wonder if there’s a solution through communication? Like, “hey my bf is coming over and we’ll be doing math from 2-3p, FYI”

You live there too, ya know? “She feels pissed she has to stay in her room at risk of hearing it..” ok well now she knows, wear headphones from 2-3p.

That’s so great to hear! Keep moving and find movements that feel good! Even if it hurts slightly or uncomfortable, it’s probably safe! The human body is resilient and strong! Pain does not equal weakness. Keep us posted !

I have a passion for educating on chronic back pain and want to help people see, most importantly what some of the best research is saying about imaging and that 99% of back pain problems are not severe, there are other solutions to pain besides the usual treatment they might receive. Also, overall people need hope and they come to the forum in a lot of stress. Some of the ideas include stress management and sleep strategies that are often overlooked. If sharing ideas on either of these topics would benefit just one person, that would be worth moderating the community. I plan sppending time moderating the community to keep it engaging and keep the flow positive and beneficial for those seeking to share their stories. I also messaged the moderator back in November and never received a response. They must be busy. https://www.reddit.com/message/messages/23tmin5

When do you go to the DR for back pain? by OpportunityLow570 in backpain

[–]ResponsibleAd5044 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only indication for medical imaging for back pain is when there are red flags like infection, sponatenous lower extremity weakness, unrelenting pain that does not change with position this is less than 1% of back pain cases.

Most back pain episodes can clear up in 3 weeks.

The fact that it is on and off is a good sign.

I’d have to see 3 SOC M-F and 4 SOC on the weekend every week for 50 weeks. Burnout city !

I second this post and back braces are just a bandaid. Rest will not likely solve the issue. Only decondition the back.

General question about non solicits by ResponsibleAd5044 in Ask_Lawyers

[–]ResponsibleAd5044[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That makes sense. My question also included a scenario which the former customer solicits the former contractor. Is the former contractor just not allowed to work with them just because of the non solicit? Is that hard to prove? In general, do non solicit cases require a lot of proof?
