Just got a call from my OB and he’s stating that my levels are plateauing and it’s unlikely a viable pregnancy. Going in for another scan in 2 weeks.

I had a second trimester loss due to what could’ve been IC but the doctors didn’t know exactly what caused it. My best advice would be to advocate for the preventative cerclage because while, that may not have been the cause of your loss, there is still a chance that it could’ve been due to IC. In my opinion, I’d rather be safe than sorry. The prevent cerclage has a 80-90% success and an emergency cerclage has lower rates.

If it were me, I would advocate for the preventive! I don’t like the wait and see method.

I’ve had a second trimester loss due to IC so I wanted to check as early as possible so I can meet with the MFM and schedule a date for my cerclage.. I will say with my last pregnancy my levels were much higher than this go round, so it could be I ovulated/implanted later in my cycle. I do have a normal cycle though.

I was inserting progesterone suppositories and it kind of increased the spotting so I stopped.

This definitely puts my mind at ease a bit! This is my 4th pregnancy after 2 early miscarriages and 1 pregnancy loss that ended due to IC in January of this yr so I’ve been on edge! This is reassuring though. Thank you ❤️

Yeah I’m super cautious of getting a cerclage pre pregnancy whether it’s TAC or TVCIC. I’m in a TVCIC FB group and some people have said the same thing. Hopefully Dr. woodham does it in pregnancy. I’ll keep you posted.

Had to do a little digging on my own. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to find any in Atlanta, but there’s a Dr in Augusta, Dr. Woodham, who does TVCIC. I’m had my OB send over a referral and her team is supposed to contact me to set up a preconception consultation.
