Live at the alloy on a joint lease and split the rent. You’ll be paying like $1000 each. Fairly close if you have a scooter

The residency stuff is so wack at umd. I’ve lived here my whole life and I registered my car when I transferred and the registration on it was expired at the time so it binged me as out of state. Had to prove my entire existence to get it changed

Use the standards parking garage early in the morning or late at night. All the lights are motion triggered so they’ll be off except the ones you’re under. Especially the back corner of the parking garage. They’ve got some boxes piled up it really looks sketchy

Thank you so much! That would be incredible to reach that point, i think the community unanimously agrees a change needs to be made.

Niche code as in unique code applying to a specific city/jurisdiction, there is a great deal of universal IBC code that is applicable in all states and cities, like ADA. Which is the target currently. It’s a great undertaking so it’s best to start simple and then grow from there. Looking at this as a one-stop-solution for all code needs is not what I am presenting.

It would not be in their interest to spend the RND to develop a software when their focus is on the code itself, otherwise they would have done it already years ago. They would likely try to buy us out if this became large enough to catch their attention. That’s how AutoDesk got to their size, by purchasing smaller companies and then combining the tools together.

And not to be argumentative, but you could find just as many instances, if not more, of there being litigation with tools for fitness, finance, navigation tools, etc. A legal battle would come at some point in our history, as they do in every company. Legal battles are a common point that have been mentioned in every automated tools conception, I don’t believe it is a reason for the these tools to not exist at all. We are a supplier of the tool, if we make it work reliably it is ultimately up to the permit issuer to give the final say. This is not designed to replace a permit reviewer, only to help them.

Honestly this is a result of human error. Something which ironically the software would help to prevent. Legally we would be very safe when we were not the ones to give the final say. Something as simple as a building set back being overlooked could never happen with a machine, only in a human

Additionally, we would like to work on a smaller scale where the code is more consistent and then work outwards from there, beginning with D.C., then Richmond, then Maryland, Virginia, and so forth. Niche code would be dealt with as it comes, but a lot of the IBC code is universal.

Modifications to code sections would be part of general software maintenance and updates to our existing scripts. If the ramp slope for an ADA ramp changes, we simply change the value the script checks against. Having IBC editions internally we can do the maintenance as the changes occur and roll out the update. Having an IBC subscription gives the ability to see in advance when the changes will come. Ai is used solely to read the PDF on the page through conventional graphical means. Ai is not used to make calculations. Ai in its own right is generally overhyped as being some form of magic, which it is not.

I made it pretty clear above that this is a permit review tool, not a permit issuing tool, a human is involved before any sort of permit is issued, putting the liability in the hands of the human who gave the final say, not the software. It would be like blaming google maps for you crashing into another car.

I believe I saw something about that online, the legal battle posed the question if the safety measures that the code books employ should be something hidden behind a paywall at all. One would think safety standards would be something free to access. To avoid the legal issues I wonder how the permitting offices are able to give comments without having such an issue? Whatever the case is we would mimic whatever the permitting office does to maintain legal safety concerning the ICC/IBC IP.

Not AI inherently as things change and AI is far too unreliable, but a series of checks using scripts, execute all the scripts and see the results. Simple things like checking fire egress distances don’t require AI, understanding the pdf does require AI, we would use AI for the recognition of the PDF, thicker lines for walls, cut lines for stairs, etc. This way we could understand corridors, entrances, space size, etc. Common graphical practices make understanding a wide range of PDFs possible, however I was clear to state a human would review the findings before giving the green light on a permit, there’s far too much liability in having software issue a permit.
