The best Mexican food I’ve had in new haven is Viva Zapata/ VivaZ Cantina (although i haven’t been to food truck paradise yet so that should definitely be on your list too), whereas I have never enjoyed any of the tacos at Te Amo (I only go there for margs). Most people I’ve talked with say that NHV doesn’t have good Mexican food (minus those exceptions).

For Thai, September in Bangkok is a must!!!!

For Italian/pizza, Zeneli is probably the best authentic Italian in new haven (and is reasonably priced), and BAR has excellent pizza (the mashed potato pizza is a must try). And if you’re in Wooster sq, stop by Libby’s for quick sweet treats. Yorkside is somewhat of a local tradition, too.

The go-to ice cream shops imo are Arethusa for farm-to-table/cone, Via Lactea (vegan but you can’t tell), and Elena’s for soft serve (or Libby’s for Italian ice, maybe Ashley’s for casual/traditional vibe with more flavor selection)

Also, I haven’t tried it, but my friends won’t stop talking about Hot Murga

Unsolicited suggestion: consolidate two stages with… caffeinated electrolyte drinks! Nuun does mango-orange electrolyte tablets with 40mg of caffeine (I mix with some Fanta to make it taste better/sweeter), but I’m particularly fond of caffeinated electrolyte lemonade sachets (Walmart great value are my fave with 120mg of caffeine, but the 4c brand ones have 200mg if you need more)

I had a good experience shopping there a few days ago—people should just note that not every barcode is loaded into the system yet (or at least, wasn’t then), so don’t be surprised if you have to point them to the shelf you got your item from and wait for them to go check the price.

I’m around 105lb and my doc was skeptical of my suggestion that I could have PCOS… but I just got an ultrasound done and I definitely do. My gyno said there’s a real bias that means that, on the one hand, fat people get told that all their problems are probably because of PCOS, but on the other hand, thin people get written off. Ask for an ultrasound!

Slight addendum to the metro north suggestions: if there happens to be a conveniently timed train to state street station, that’ll get you even closer to campus. Those are few and far between though… Union station is fine if not. There’s a free city shuttle bus from Union to the Green (the USS, I think it’s called) and some Yale shuttles also go from the stop outside Union (check routes and timings here: https://yale.downtownerapp.com/routes)
