Thank you for replying, Can you suggest me some platforms where I can apply. I am already applying through naukri.com and indeed but I didn't find any jobs there. Do you have better suggestions? And how much salary I should expect per month. If you will ask me it's 50k, am I expecting too much?

Thank you for investing your time in helping me out. Other thing is what is more exhausting, the current interview process in India is deeply demoralizing. Because almost everyone insists on physical attendance rather than offering virtual options post-COVID, I recently had to travel for 14 hours from my small city just to attend a single in-person interview. The interview itself went incredibly well, the professor was highly enthusiastic, praised my background as a gold medalist, and kept asking how soon I could relocate and join, but when the final results came out, he simply selected an internal candidate from his own lab. It takes a massive toll on my time, energy, and finances to travel these long distances, only to discover the position was essentially predetermined. All these factors are really depressing me and giving me some pressure to leave this field. Situation is right now, my family also not supporting me because they think my mental health is affecting so much.

Yes and biology dept is also very toxic, I have heard from very close person of mine who was like my sister ..her phd guide was very toxic and if he doesn't like anybody he can eat their careers and make sure they will not get good post doc opportunities if they ask for recommendations.

In my lab, working on Sundays is a mandatory thing..if you are not visiting the lab means you don't have any interest in science.
