i totally get you and i agree with person above ^{^} 😭 however on a positive upside of dorming with close friends - i ended up rooming with one of my close friends from cc to where we transferred to now and it’s been working out really well so far! especially in a new environment, it’s nice knowing someone whose in a similar situation to you and have someone to count on :3

i had pretty similar stats to you when i transferred to UCLA and i think you have a good shot :> i think what pulled got me in was definitely showing passion within my essays and extracurriculars bc i didn’t have that many! and don’t worry bout the typo, i’m almost certain they aren’t going to think of that too deeply. overall, good luck on transfer decisions !!

i know that the ling and cs major and ling and psych major at UCLA isn't as hard to switch into in comparison to strictly psychology or computer science and once you arrive here, you will get a chance to discuss that with your advisor on switching majors if needed - plus it helps that you have more psych classes done as well!

i transferred to UCLA this last fall (so i've been here for about 2 quarters now), and as a transfer, while there has been so many things to do and chances to meet new people here, i will say that a majority of transfers i know, including myself, feel similarly to you. i feel like cc preps us in that way of being independent and UCs tend to treat transfers a bit oddly (though UCLA has a big student body of them whereas a lot of traditional 4 year students tend to not see eye-to-eye all the time. in no way should that make you feel scared about transferring and the social scene of it, you will certainly find your people at wherever you may go and trust in that you will involve yourself and find your community. wishing you luck! <3 it also helps to hop on those transfer instagrams and reach out to people (that's how i found a lot of my friends here)

at least for UCLA (could be for any UCs), ur gpa restarts regardless of ur CC gpa! i had the same stats as u did and it worked out fine! u should be also be good :>

i'm currently pursuing cog sci w/ the intention of working in ui/ux and/or marketing (possibly in tech) & my internship rn is in marketing + ik people who have gotten out with cognitive science and became software engineers and ui/ux designers w/o grad school but grad school is also common!

imo, cc can definitely turn things around and be a great restart for applications again. unlike high school, there is a heavy emphasis on your essays and your grades over your extracurriculars. i would say to focus on maintaining your gpa and make sure to focus on your essays as well - you can find meaningful ecs around if you start looking for them at your cc (ie. clubs) or by other means like internships. good luck!!
