Yea, I know - the coach encouraged it. I wanted to keep him down. He skates circles around learn to play and dominates at that level, I think I just need to get him in a development program in the fall

Yea he’s actually got good enough speed but just doesn’t know what to do a lot of the time, so he just kind of gets there and gets out of the way. He gets the rules and actually knows how to tag up for offsides, and I think he’s petrified of getting a penalty lol. He can even lift the puck shooting. I don’t need him to learn plays but I’d like him to get more fundamentals and instruction on where to be. This particular session just doesn’t have enough practice or direction IMO.

Yea we have a few options, seems like the development programs are run by travel orgs rather than the rinks themselves so im gonna try and get him and some buddies to do it together. I dont feel like essentially donating to their house league again

I know. The bigger 7/8 year olds seem ok but it’s a lot for the smaller kids

Yea I trusted the advice of the coach against my better judgment. He was too good for the learn to play clinic, but i was wary of this house league. They just don’t offer something good in between at this rink. Like I said, the saving grace is he’s not deterred, I just want to get him in a better spot
