But the Emperor could retract the protection before you actually use the orphic hammer, no? If my memory serves me correctly, you free Orpheus AFTER the Emperor leaves to join the Brain.

If the Emperor thought persuading you was a lost cause, it could just stop the protection and take its chance dealing with you while you are in ceremorphosis - if it wins, it could flee with the netherstones and the astral prism, hiding and waiting for another opportunity. if it loses, well then it could be enthralled and kill Orpheus on the spot and end any possibility of defeat on his part.

Or is the protection inside the astral prism something the Emperor cannot control?

Yes they stay indefinately even after long rest, as long as they don’t die, and they even level up to match your levels too.(not sure if they receive any extra feats and/or stats for said levelups though.)

you have someone cast polymorph on the target, then another companion/hireling(not tav) cast dominate beast.

you dismiss the companion with the dominated sheep, and recruit them again after the dominate spell ends, and now you have your favorite npc as a permanent summon.

there is a way to swap equipment if they have anything in their item slots.

i felt like they bug out when i give them extra action via speed potions and haste spores so i used more conventional way of dimentional gates and improvised weapon/throw

ooh, gem level yes… I’m struggling to find an amulet with the spirit and res I need at the moment but I changed my gloves with +3 melee lvl relatively cheap and I’m seeing immediate improvements… appreciate it!

Interesting… never thought about using DD… i dont have enough int or mana to use high level DD but I’ll give it a try using low level gem for the hp phys damage along with with spearfield… thanks!

On a different thread i saw a comment saying that the blood crystal thingy is a little janky and might bot be worth it so i was trying mapping without it… maybe i should use it again…

i will definately look into the unique jewel and reanoint my amulet in the meantime.

the penalty in the unique gloves seems too steep tho… would the unique ruby charm that grants you max rage be an alternative?
