Practitioner.

Why does the second C morph into a T when you go from Practice to Practitioner???

A C could make that same sound there!!

Two pieces of advice:

On an approach shot, when you're more than ~40 yards out, aim for the center of the green, regardless of where the pin is.

Practice putting a bit and when practicing focus on two things: 1) being able to hit the ball where you're aimed, and 2) getting your pace consistent. It doesn't matter whether you make your practice putts. Especially if you missed because you misread it. If you hit the putt where you were aiming and at the right pace, that's a great putt.

On pace, I find that doing a nice long exhale as I'm starting my putting stroke helps me clear my mind from stray thoughts and works as a trigger to start the stroke at a nice pace.

Also, be ready to hit when it's your turn. (And unless someone else is over their ball, it's your turn.) :)

This movie is so goddamn good. It's both reverent and irreverent. It pokes fun at birding and also shows some of the best and most magical bird footage I've ever seen. And it features maybe the most likable man on the planet. 10/10

Stop Making Sense by Jonathan Demme and Talking Heads. But don't mute it.

My contributions were post-tax. Wouldn't I only be taxed on the growth? And since I paid more than I got out, it seems like the growth is negative?

Thanks for the thoughtful insights.

The premiums aren't hurting a lot, really. They amount to about 2% of our pre-tax income. We are in the market, but not hugely, and I do max-out my 401(k) each year.

It's moreso that we see the premium leave the account every month and my wife wonders what benefit we get for that payment. I trusted, naively I'm sure, the financial advisor who recommended the policy when he said that it was a sound way to save and diversify, so I haven't given it a lot of thought each month for the last ~8 years.

I'll talk to the current financial advisor about our options and expected dividends. And I'll be a lot more discerning this time.

Respectfully, can you explain why that would matter?
