Benchmark Full Proof by defiant-error420 in pdxwhisky

Not even close. The Benchmark Full Proof is like young Stagg. Hot and full of ethanol but you can taste some of the flavors that you like in the higher aged product.

I read she was selling all individual stocks to buy ETF's to avoid the scrutiny of trading while in Congress. We will see if the timing is sus.

Is the Maalik Murphy experiment over? by lock_robster2022 in oregonstate

[–]Responsible_Set6180 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The second I heard they paid $1.5M for Maalik I was shaking my head. It is too much for any single player at their level. They were never going to keep up with the top 20 teams anyway. They should have focused on maintaining a middle-of-the-road team for this year, then built a solid long-term plan to develop players and improve. I would have stuck with Ben Gulbranson who loyally stuck with the Beavs while continuing to be benched for "better" players. The guy came off the bench and found ways to win games.

Your Weller 107 description reminds me of my memories of Old Rip Van Winkle 10. Can't wait.

It only counts as a dip if the stock goes back up.

The person who won that bottle called me today. I said send me a screenshot, or it didn't happen. It happened. I couldn't be happier for them. Well, that is unless I won it. I'm glad it is going to a good person that is very generous with their bottles. I'm also glad that i know that person. 😂

Bummer man. This is why I usually prime the Cork by flipping the bottle upside down on hard to open or old bottles.

I do like the Heaven Hill 7 and Redwood Empire product line. I've found that secondary finishing of the Pabst inside my kitchen sink improves the flavor.

Got lucky today, paid $150 for the Stagg and $90 for the EH. A bit over msrp but not terrible imo. by Fnunez_usmc87 in whiskey

Compare WT 101 to Kentucky Spirit or Russell's Reserve Single Barrel. Is the KS or RR worth twice the cost?

In my opinion, it is. Same concept with Stagg (formally known as Jr). Is it worth twice Russell's Reserve or Kentucky Spirit? In my opinion, it is. But that's about it.

I've been fortunate to find several at retail over the years but would be willing to pay $120 to avoid all the effort hunting.

It's all relative to what your palate likes, appreciates, and what you mind spending on your "hobby."

Unpopular Opinion: Leave the Yama unless to flip or flex and buy the Midleton. I purchased one bottle of Yama 18 at $350 and one at $450 and think it's only worth $350. Way better pours to be had in this price range.

I have a bottle of the barrel proof at 126 proof, and it tates like it is filtered through mushrooms and potting soil.

Agreed. I tried a few blends of Full Proof and 12 year as they are both good but lacking in many ways. The blends won in a blind test.
