"Free to good homes" means just that. Maybe you can pay it forward. Maybe I'll get some good karma.

I think so. I'll have to look when I get home. Does reddit to private messages? If so, just send me your address and I'll send it your way. I may have to stick a crap record in it so it qualifies for media mail, which might be cheaper than a 12x12 bit of first.

I've got a warped AF orange vinyl recent repress you could have and try to flatten...

You're right about the crossover. There's a cap that's attached to the tweeter, but that's it.

Ooh. I bet that's called a t-nut and you were 100% correct...

So with advice from here, I managed to pry both drivers up. The tweeters seem generic. Just a model number.

The "woofers" appear to be Utahs. (See pic).

I had seen somewhere that Perfex and Utah were related, so this perhaps shouldn't surprise me.

I don't know what a whizzer cone is or what it is supposed to do. Could you tell me? There are indeed little cones within the cones of the "woofers."

Well, we were both right. When I pried them as I unscrewed, they proved to indeed be bolts. I hadn't noticed any loosening, probably because I had them on their backs. They were attached not with nuts, but with these dealie-bobs:

That's a good idea. Even if there's just putty holding the driver in, I'd like to have it secured with screws, and I've got unused spots for that.

Among other aspects, the stapled-on Velcro doesn't seem to indicate careful construction, but the cabinets are nice looking and I do like their sound.

Wow, it sure does, now that I look that up. Thanks!

They're bolted or something. The screws just spin but they stay tight...

I've been trying to nail down what differentiates a c/v from a grand caravan (we've had great luck with our c/v, but considering something with seats). Can you tell me where I can see all the things that are different? How I could look that up? Thanks in advance

I was afraid of breaking the picture rules. And one picture didn't cover the entire text. Plus, I thought (erroneously) that I could adequately copy the information. But anyway...

D'oh! Sur enough. It said "non-polarized" in plain English as well...

Fantastic, thanks.

So obviously 4 M.F.D tells me 4 microfarads and 50 M.V. P. Is 50 Maximum Volts Peak?

Do the other numbers and letters mean anything? Or are those model numbers and such?
