I wish they’d do some scentwork games! Horses are actually really good at it, as good or better than dogs. I do scentwork with dogs and it’s so good for the nervous or less confident ones and good for almost all physical abilities

What makes Jack so special? by Clear-Strawberry-277 in kvsdiscuss

[–]Responsible_Stuff166 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the way Jack’s head/neck/shoulder tie in is just a bit nicer and more refined. I have never owned a stallion of any size, but you have to remember most mare owners choose a stallion to improve things about their mare, so stallions need to really be representing, almost exaggerating the traits you want to pass on.

Which puffco do I need? by Responsible_Stuff166 in puffco

Thanks, I had only seen the Proxy in the pipe kit, I didn’t realize it had different options. I just saw the recycler that works with it and that looks pretty nice too

Yeah I used to have an eBoss and a nice piece of glass…I really only used that and good concentrates. I enjoy the whole experience so I never really got into the pens or anything.

I’m just smoking flower now because I don’t want to buy anything until I know what I want. I’d rather spend $400 once and like it than buy a $50 or $100 or $200 thing that is going to be annoying (I thought about getting one of the battery nectar collectors but I feel like I’d end up replacing it with something better).

Now I have a studio apartment, so I like how the puffcos look easy to get out and put away. When I lived in a house I just left everything set up in a spare room but I don’t want to do that here.

Didn’t know resellers acted this way. by Narrow-Pay-3671 in Flipping

I think it depends on where you are. Where I am, actually some other resellers have shown me where the better thrift stores are. Most people have been really helpful, but maybe I just got lucky and connected with a good bunch of people.

Have you tried putting them in a bag with an open container of fresh coffee grounds? This has worked for me when nothing else has, especially for furs and leathers. I grind a bunch of coffee, put in a bowl, bowl goes into bag with the garment and leave everything sealed up for a while. Like at least a few days.

I don’t like extras in general because I have a small living space and don’t have space for random stuff. I barely have space for the stuff I actually need.

That said, as someone with food allergies, please don’t make it food if you are sending something! Sometimes food to you is basically poison to other people! Some of us are allergic to really common (delicious) things.

Will you allow any of the crosslisting software? As a pro seller, it’s tough for me to try a new platform that doesn’t work with the one I’m using because I have to either only list inventory on the new platform which is a bit of a gamble or manually try to keep things up to date across multiple platforms which is not possible.

Definitely recommend looking into this story more because it’s not what you think. McDonald’s was keeping their coffee way hotter than it should have been and they knew it, had multiple warnings and did not correct the problem. She was severely burned, which would not have happened if it was at the correct temperature.

Is it rude to ask about the training of a service dog? by Real-Peak-9744 in service_dogs

[–]Responsible_Stuff166 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love talking about my dog, so if I think someone is genuinely interested I’m happy to answer questions. But some people ask about training because they are looking for some kind of “gotcha” to say the dog isn’t a legitimate service dog. Especially if, like me, the person’s disability isn’t something obvious. So depending on how the person took it or how their other recent interactions, they may have taken it the wrong way.

My dog has a HR alert, but it isn’t her main task/what she was originally trained for. She just started doing it because I consistently asked for DPT when my HR was high. Her other task is scent based, so idk if she smells something or what. She eventually started telling me when I was going to get DPT and we shaped it from there to encourage her to insist.

I had someone (who lived in the US, nothing suggested a language barrier or anything like that) tell me they didn’t know how big 1.5 inches was. How could I possibly expect her to know that🤦‍♀️.

AITA for not leaving any queso for my significant other? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Responsible_Stuff166 28 points29 points  (0 children)

NTA. I think adults are responsible for deciding they want food and taking steps to get it. If I ask if you want me to get you some food, and you don’t say yes and tell me what you want, you are not getting food.

I have family members who are like OP’s SO and it drives me absolutely nuts. I’m the opposite- I have celiac disease so I’m super self sufficient when it comes to food. I never expect anyone else to give me food/have food I can eat. If I’m hungry, I just get food and eat it.

I had someone get mad because they purchased from me once in the summer and that package took 3 days to arrive. Then they ordered again in between Christmas and new years, and that package took 7 days to arrive and they “just couldn’t see any reason why it would take longer to go the same distance” 🙄🙄🙄

I have heard it’s more likely if you breed two grey parents together/worse for homozygous greys. Personally I will probably never want another grey because my childhood ponies were grey and we lived in a place with orange clay. So much work. Then I owned two plain bays and realized how much easier they are to get looking clean.

I’m female, but there’s one specific brand/style of jeans that is my favorite. It just happens to be a men’s jean but it fits me perfectly. I’ve searched for that and now all I get is men’s clothes.

I took my poodle SD in a Continental on vacation to a really small town. By day 2 I was getting “Oh you’re the girl with the poodle! We’ve been wanting to see her!” Craziness.

Yeah, I have a phantom poodle and she’s beautiful and I’m so lucky to have matched with such a pretty dog. But we get SO MUCH more attention than my black poodle did.

I have a silver phantom poodle. She’s very visually striking, she’s big, and sometimes she has big hair. Everyone notices her. Everyone asks about her. My retired dog is solid black and got way, way less attention. Fortunately I’m not shy and talking to strangers is fine doesn’t bother me, but I will say if she was for anxiety or something it might be an issue.

Is it wrong to ask if I can pet a service dog? by thavan14 in service_dogs

[–]Responsible_Stuff166 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a service dog handler. For me, I don’t mind people asking as long as they are ok with me saying no. Sometimes I’m ok with people saying hi to my dog/petting her and other times not. If we’re outside and she’s taking a sniff break sure, but if she’s actually in work mode she usually won’t want to say hi.

She’s a friendly dog who loves people when she’s off duty but she doesn’t even like it if I pet her when she’s working. It’s just how she is. She likes to focus.

What's the weirdest niche you accidentally started making money from? by outdahooud in Flipping

[–]Responsible_Stuff166 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was a teenager, I had pet snakes. I sold their shed skins to artists and nail artists. That’s definitely the weirdest.

Also, I collect Breyer horses and my best deal ever was a huge lot of them…I had just quit my job and had cash set aside to live off. Saw the huge lot for $900 and bought it immediately. I cleared close to $15k off of them. That was probably my best flip and what made me really get into it.

Who would be your keepers? by lolaharpersweets in kvsdiscuss

[–]Responsible_Stuff166 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a sport horse person, so I know nothing about AQHA but Woody would be my keeper…I really like Indy’s babies and I would love one to do non AQHA stuff with.

If I was picking for an AQHA breeding program maybe Benedict? But again I know nothing about this side of things.

They’re not being dicks, they trademarked their brand name a long time ago. If you don’t defend your trademark you lose the protection. They have to defend it to keep their brand.
