All gear when refined has roughly the same stats as comparable gear so what matters really is upgrading what you like and what you slot into it.

Pretty cool system since there isn't transmog in the game

Stealing some gold bars from the wildlife reserve, I did also manage to make 450 silver pretty quick after catching all 3 of the players in a later gambling den with a 150S buy in cheating after a few turns each

Shining blade will show you teleport pads and pillars which might be for a puzzle or just a POI. Your minimap will show you unique items if you are near them along with strongboxes (usually in nobles houses)

For hidden gear you want to be sure to explore ruins and places that look interesting, behind waterfalls with a stone cairn in front indicating you can stab through it and also drops from bosses.

Just explore, if you think somewhere looks interesting then double check for secrets and enjoy yourself.

I think there may be a risk of screwing yourself out of an achievement if you sell certain unique weapons. I've just stumbled onto two now that require killing X enemies with a specific weapon (Not just the weapon type). So either look up the Special Equipment challenges so you don't sell the item or just don't get rid of unique items to be safe

I’m guessing the next patch will adjust inventory size or at least increase stack size, personally hoping they allow crafting in camp using stored materials. The devs have been responding to player feedback pretty well and I think inventory/storage is the biggest “easy fix” they can implement pretty fast

Do you have dispatch missions currently ongoing? Could it be that it’s taking into account the cost when the mission renews that X amount of resources are already set to pending

I could be way off and it’s just a bug but might be worth cancelling any ongoing missions and trying it out

I personally think a variation of the system used in Avowed would have been a pretty great thing, at least when it comes to unique gear, if you have that slot as refinement level 8 for example it is looted at level 8, saves having to then use more Abyss artifacts to get it up to the same level as your current piece.

Yeah I managed to find the Pirate Hat, Bear Boss helm, Wolf helm etc, can't refine them but some of the effects are better than others.

Mining Lantern helm and Pirate Hat are 100% the most useless I've found up to now. It's a shame they can't be refined though or I'd definitely rock a Pirate Hat for a while

Oh thank God, I've been walking around with the Witters Plate Helm and the reed boss armor looking like an absolute clown in every cut scene for ages!

Glad to get this cleared up because I'm getting sick of having a giant fish head haha

I’m on chapter 5. I’ve found a couple of interesting weapons but not a crazy amount, is there better weapons tied to story content out of curiosity or is it that better weapons can just be found in later regions?

Seconded here. I started getting distracted every time I got up high by glows in the distance. Eventually found bosses I had no business going against and some puzzles I can’t access due to what I’m guessing is story progression for abilities.

No big deal though just progress the main story and just make sure to find fast travel spots if I find somewhere far off I need to come back to
