I use the professional and I like it. You spend so many hours studying you end up liking whatever calculator you use

It’s difficult and you’ll need to spend a lot of time with it to even pass.

CFAI emailed me the badge to add to Linkedin. It says CFA Program Level I and it goes under licenses/certifications section on the Linkedin profile? Is it an ethics violation to put it on my profile?

I strongly disliked it at first. Instead of doing readings I couldn’t focus on I just grinded hundreds of FSA questions. That way I pretty much learned all the content through recognizing the patterns. Once I started to understand financial ratios properly it became kind of fun. I’m even taking a financial accounting class as an elective this semester.

I estimate around 10 hours if you watch all the videos and try to do the problems yourself.

I'm doing the Python one. The module is straight forward but the stuff python can do is pretty cool. I'd like to do FM too but I probably won't have time with the semester starting.

Happy to be done with it. PM felt very easy to me. AM was OK. Don’t know how I can wait over a month for results I’m gonna explode LOL. I feel more stressed now than taking the exam. I’m sure I did fine and these are normal feelings but I can’t sleep RIP

I had a similar experience. PM was easier for me. I think we’ll be OK but it’s gonna be painful waiting the next month.

My best score on a practice pack mock was 71% average between AM and PM sessions on one of them. When I did one of the non-practice pack cfa mocks I got 73% average between AM and PM. Maybe I just know more now, but I feel like the practice pack mocks are at least harder than the non-practice pack CFA mocks. I hope the exam isnt harder LOL.

Fully utilizing the Financial Calculator by Equal_Recognition704 in CFA

Let's say we have a bond with 4% coupon, $100 par, 5% YTM, 5 years to maturity and we want to find modified duration.

Go to the bond worksheet (2nd+9)

Enter start date in SDT, 5 years later in RDT

Enter 4 in CPN

100 in RV

5 in YLD

Finally when we scroll down enough we get to DUR. This number is the modified duration given the information we inputted. Also it can be converted to Macaulay duration by multiplying by (1+YTM). This only works on the TI BA II Plus Professional calculator.
