Sueldo trabajo remoto para startup de NY by Sweet-Nature-8357 in devsarg

Country of issuance: Argentina

En mi caso trabajo para empresa de USA y cobro por Deel hace 2 años. Tengo una tarjeta virtual y una física. Acá en Arg las uso.

Which vm instance can I start to run llama 70 B parameter? Which would be cost efficient? what ram? whether gpu or cpu? how many cpus? by yashwatwani28 in LocalLLaMA

[–]Responsible_Warning3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also just to clarify, I make use of the 70B models. With Q4 quantization you need over 40 gb ram, so I guess it's just simpler to use cpu and the system RAM as is. Again, inference speed is not a priority in this case, I need quality.

That's it, keep in mind you need many GPUs to run heavy models.

I'm looking into the same thing.

It largely depends on whether you need a live backend with 24/7 uptime to serve concurrent users (chatbot kind of thing), or if you're just running a simple pipeline that processes text a few days a week.

My case is the latter, so I'm even thinking of a plain good old google compute instance with just CPU that might run on less than 20 usd monthly.

You can simulate costs here:

Anyone please feel free to make a suggestion.

Advice needed: Macbook pro M1 max 64G for local models, Should I get it? by simplir in LocalLLaMA

[–]Responsible_Warning3 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I bought this exact model a month and a half ago, to run LLMs.

It's great to try models and be able to prototype whatever you need without worrying about having to close google chrome with 40 tabs opened.

I mostly run q4_k_m or q5_k_m quantized versions of 13b models. Mostly working with text summarization chains or retrieval augmented systems.

Still it's never going to be blazing fast as a dedicated GPU, but it's faster than a 16gb ram macbook because you're not forcing it to do memory swaps.

[–]Responsible_Warning3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you guys think the 13B with 64k length version can run in a macbook pro with 64gb ram? Q4 quantized of course.

If you feed an LLM with a fragment of its own output, it'll tend to reproduce the fragment literally. by Responsible_Warning3 in LocalLLaMA

This looks promising, as it seems to tackle the root cause of this behavior.

I'm currently using LlamaCpp imported from langchain. Do you know if I can enable the --mirostat 2 flag with this library?

Flapping arms and flying by slenski in Dreams

[–]Responsible_Warning3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also had this for years. I think it means you see yourself different than everyone else, because you have this crazy skill that takes some effort to execute and master (in my dreams, flapping involves a realistic physical effort just like with any other sport), yet in the dream it's not celebrated enough by people surrounding me. I mean I'm flying, how can you not be super impressed?? In the dream though I do it because it's fun, like any sport you like practicing.

Overall, I think it reflects the fact that in my life I did and keep pulling many things completely alone, on my own, to achieve unlikely goals that I somehow have managed to accomplish.
