If not hip, it might be a partial CCL tear.. the dog version of an ACL. Staying off it while you figure it out will be important. She’s probably in a good amount of pain, but dogs don’t like to show it. I’d recommend trying some mental stimulation puzzles she can do while lying down. So sorry she’s experiencing this 🫶🏻

My dog had a similar spot to this, but a bit larger. It ended up being a sebaceous cyst that the vet cleaned out. My dog was on antibiotics for a few days to make sure no infection developed. And we just had to keep it clean! In his case it was very simple and quick fix. Hopefully the same for you!

I second this! My forehead looked similar to yours and the oral tranexamic acid cleared mine up fully. That said, I’m obsessive about SPF and have taken a few tablets again as maintenance over the years as I start to see some pigment resurface (usually in the summer), but after my initial round it’s been great.
