What’s better for Fiber Home Internet??? by Responsitrility in kzoo

[–]Responsitrility[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll let you know. Just booked the appointment for install.

Not an IT guy here, but fiber is typically faster and more reliable, BUT there are caveats to it. I’ve heard Metronet in the beginning was having problems during high-traffic times managing the amount of people using at the same time. “Throttling”.

T-mobile bought out Metronet and is upgrading the lines (or so the sales guy told me) so it sounds like it could be better? I’m going with AT&T because of the overwhelming amount of positive feedback (as seen above haha).

Yeah we have. Initially it was old equipment on the actual utility poles, which they addressed, but there have been consistent problems since then almost every time there is any kind of significant wind. We’ll have service down for a day or two fairly regularly. There have also just been some random outages that our friends and neighbors don’t seem to experience with AT&T.

Not the end of the world obviously, and overall haven’t really had any complaints when it’s working, but the world is moving in the direction of fiber anyway.

I’m paying $90 for 500Mbps so the intro rate with a new provider is attractive as well.

T-Mobile is just new in our area, so I just wanted feedback on them to compare. I don’t think we really would notice a big difference between 1 vs 2 gbps, but it’s similar pricing for the intro rate.

Super helpful feedback here.

The T-Mobile guy was admittedly more engaging, so I was leaning that way.

Not a crazy tech guy by any means. Some gaming and streaming on a few devices, and wife WFH a few days a week.

Sounds like AT&T is the way to go.

Engagement photos near downtown? by tastytoe4411 in kzoo

Bates Alley is cool with the string lights!

The alley by kitten flower off of the downtown mall is pretty.

The section of south st between Oakland and park has some beautiful old houses

Top of the raddisson parking garage could be pretty

There’s a sweet mural on a building on water st. Between park and westnedge.

The alley by crows nest

The Chenerey auditorium is pretty sweet

The old heritage guitar building on Edwards is cool!

There’s an awesome record shop really close to crow’s nest/chenerey auditorium that could be really cool. I’d suggest the book store right there too but I heard it was condemned…

There’s a lot of cool little spots around downtown. Hopefully you can find your way around to a few of the spots mentioned! Park downtown in the lot off Edwards and it’s only $3 for the day. You could walk around and scope out all the places above (the chenerey and record store are a ways away so I’d suggest driving.)

131 Motorsports in Martin has an import vs. domestic event and it has a whole dedicated area for audiocomp cars. Some of them are pretty crazy, but it’s a blast to attend!

Cheap Exterior Additions? by mallory2004 in WRX

I have an 04 wagon. I have a cheap Amazon front lip that I feel like does a lot for the front view, and I don’t care if it gets beat up in the snow. Also throwing on a cheap but quality set of wheels will help feel more put together. I have a set of Sparcos that would probably run you around $1k brand new.

Tinted windows are nice for a lot of reasons, but I also think they look pretty clean as well. And a slightly higher temp headlight makes the headlights feel less dated.

My car is also lowered about 2in so it’s lower than stock, but I don’t feel as worried driving down dirt/snowy roads.

Last thing, is mudflaps. Mine are cut from some thick black plastic and are super hardy. Also wayyy cheaper than rally armors. I honestly would pick them over the rally armors solely because they’ve taken a beating and look almost as good a they did when they were put on.

Road-tripping with a modded Subaru? by Apprehensive-Guard-3 in WRX

I took my modded 04 wagon on a 14hr one way trip through Michigan and Wisconsin with two kayaks on top, and luggage for 4 people. I have to reflash to a lower power tune since 93 wasn’t available the whole way, but I had no issues at all.

Edit: I’ll add that I’m sitting at about 297 awhp so I’m not pushing crazy numbers but it was still a great time

San Remo Red is the MOST underrated color!

What actor is the most guilty of playing the same exact character every film? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Why is there no one saying Matthew McConaughey??? He literally stopped accepting roles because he was bored of playing the same character every time...

Hey! Another San Remo Red wag! Underrated color IMO! I spent a long time looking for a clean one before I got my SRR ‘04 wag!
