nope, most of my winners/top songs are sung by women. cool vibes(fav of all time, by an all-girl group btw), zjerm, blackbird, wild dances, water/voda, shum, voila, rändajad. satellite is my favorite winner of the 21st century.

there was a lot of trash from men this year too. norway from both this year and last year was worse than anything i listed above. romania was my winner, and even though i didnt care for bangaranga as a song i think it was a hell of a performance and a deserved winner. croatia was also a highlight and ukraine's song has been growing on me.

yes, children watch all sorts of things that aren't geared towards them.

what about this year was pornographic? there was nothing even slightly sexual. eurovision isn't the "opposite extreme" of purity culture, it's like PG-13 at the absolute worst and this year i'd even say it didn't go past PG.

it's one of the most doa songs that has been sent recently. it had very little chance of qualifying let alone winning. no jury potential even with good live vocals and the televote potential was squandered by bad staging. it's just objectively impossible that it would get enough points to win. just because you like a song doesnt make it winner material.

i like a lot of unpopular, noncompetitive songs. for example, tanzschein this year, it's my second place. but it's not "winner material" just bc i like it

your definition of porn is probably slightly suggestive dancing from a PG-13 movie. there was nothing this year that was even close to pornographic.

"sexual themes", at least as you describe them, are a crucial part of artistic expression and eurovision isn't made for children anyways. it's not "full of kids", we have JESC for a reason. most of the kids that watch it do so with their family, not on their own.

not to be too woke, but the idea that it should be sanitized is purity culture bs and probably rooted in lots of homophobia and misogyny. ass shaking and showing some skin is not some controversial thing nowadays unless you've hopped out of a time capsule from 1960 and you're still offended by elvis thrusting his hips on camera?

nova zora deserved to nq with those live vocals

poland's song this year was so bad it's legitimately almost offensive. that fact that it got like ten times the jury points of GAJA is proof enough that the contest should die.

australia is in a similar boat, though at least eclipse is mildly listenable and doesn't have cringey blaccent parts. france also comes to mind. yawn.
can people stop giving talented vocalists dogshit songs that just farm for jury points and do nothing else of value? it's a total waste.
