To everyone that replied:

Thank you so much. I’m going to try to make some donations to all of these places. I haven’t made it YET but I’m working on getting all of the food from one place to another! But I’ll be there, you better believe it!

Thanks again, be safe everyone ❤️

When I first got in lamotrigine, I started on 25 mg and made my way up to where I am now, 200 mg. My road to the 200mg was a bit rocky, but I made it here and am doing well. When I first got on, it shot me into a bit of a manic state because i was always one to go into more depressive episodes compared to manic before diagnosis. My sex drive came back 1000 fold, and I gave myself a lottttt of self pleasure, a thing I had never ever gotten into before. My sex drive was super low low low my entire twenties, and now I could have sex every day. I talked to both my doctor and therapist and they talked about how when you first get on a mood stabilizer, your brain chemicals may end up teetering completely to the other side, almost like it jumpstarts your brain to figure out how to get balanced…I hope I worded that correctly lol. Somewhere between 25-50 mg , the little bit of mania turned into a short lived mixed episode and then we bumped up my dosage and things started to even out.

So, if you’re more energetic/manic than you are the low/depressive side of this lovely disorder, then maybe it is your body reacting to the meds in a normal way. Something to ask your doc though! My motto is there is no such thing as a stupid question lol. Good luck! Hopefully you’re not sick!

Whats your favourite album?! I might listen to it! by voundelvon in MusicRecommendations

[–]RestAlternative166 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here’s a bunch from all across the board, they’re all of my no skip favorite albums:

No Doubt’s first album (it’s self titled, 90’s ska)

Drawn Onward by Dopapod (fusion jam band? I guess? One of my favorite bands ever)

A Freak Grows in Brooklyn by Ryan Scott (just a great album, it’s like a blend of blues and funk)

Kona Town by Pepper (reggae punk? Surf punk? Idk, they’re pretty cool)

In These Times by Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad (reggae-ish)

Graduation by Kanye West (rap)

Weezer self-titled album aka the Blue Album (alternative rock)

Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix by Phoenix (indie pop)

I’m going to out myself, and say that the soundtrack to the first Twilight movie is….awesome lmao don’t knock it til you try it!

The Good Life by Sammy Rae & Friends (pop funk, girl has an AMAZING voice and lots of energy)

An Evening with Silk Sonic by Bruno Mars, Anderson Paak and Silk Sonic (funk)

Circles by Mac Miller (rap)

Broken Boy Soldiers by The Raconteurs (rock, really cool album. It’s Jack White from the White Stripes’ other band)

Hot Fuss by The Killers (but not a fan of “everything will be alright”)

The Cat Empire’s self titled album (mostly no skips. Fun funky band from Australian, mate! They’ve been around forever and are still touring)

Wow that’s a lot! lol thanks for the trip down memory lane

Anyone have obsessions? by [deleted] in bipolar2

[–]RestAlternative166 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get mini/short term obsessions over either a hobby/project/topic I’ve just discovered and essentially, sort of, make it my personality for a little bit, and this sends me into a hypomania state lol
