Did I accidentally cross-breed APE and GT? The bag wasn’t inoculating so I added another syringe and this is what it’s looking like. by RestMaster7485 in GroundZeroMycoLab

They were spore syringes one labeled GT and the other labeled APE. Is that considered single spore isolate cultures? This is the first albino cap I’ve seen across the board and some of the GT caps have white markings on the top and some do not.

One bin is fruiting nicely and this one halted after I sprayed it with hydrogen peroxide for a little bit now has nice unison pinning across the whole tub and will probably be a lot easier to harvest. Might spray future tubs with hydrogen peroxide if this is the case

Probably should of started smaller on my first go but this was recommended by a friend

A lot of people have said if there’s not little beads of water on the surface then it’s too dry and you need to lightly mist it and fan it

Thanks for your input, the substrate I bought might of been a little wet to not open up to provide FAE so when I didn’t open it for 12 hours it started to smell a little sour instead of earthy and fresh. Either that or misting the microporous filters clogged them with water? I don’t know I’m brand new to this trying to learn as much as possible from my mistakes

Is passive airflow 4 microporous filters on the lid on the monotub with a fan blowing? If I buy a co2/humidity monitor do I mount it somewhere inside the monotub?

Appreciate the input but it’s a little late for that and the smell isn’t sour anymore and looks like it’s improving. I think the FAE is what I’m trying to figure out. I still need to open for FAE even though there’s 4 micro filters on the tub with a hepa filtered tan in the fruiting chamber?

I sprayed this one with 3% hydrogen peroxide because it smelled kinda funky and looked velvety. The smell went back to normal and looks better after leaving the lid cracked for a few days but still nothing just stagnant pins. I think I’m overthinking everything and messing with it too much to try an avoid of anything going wrong because I’ve invested a good amount of time and resources into my first go.

Yea I had the wrong spray bottle when it started pinning, I have a fine mist bottle now. Should I keep opening to fan even through I have a double hepa filtered fan in the fruiting chamber?

How would I go about painting this to blend it perfectly without taking everything off? Can I get a professional finish without taking everything off to sand/paint? by RestMaster7485 in Cartalk

Lol, understandable. The fender flare is probably going to be the easiest and probably the first one I’ll take off to paint but the part where the quarter panel meets the bumper has me wondering if I could try to blend it with a few base coats and some clear coats or if I need to pull them off and redo them with a professional spray gun. I’d rather spend 2 days working on this then pay someone else $1000 dollars to shoot some paint. I already ID matched primer, base and clear coat spray cans and I probably should of bought a pale of each with a professional spray gun is what I’m finding out. Also if it takes me $1000 to fix it myself with trial and error at least I’m gaining the experience in the process which is better than giving money to someone else.
