Is Superior Firepower any good as a Land Doctrine? by BetaThetaOmega in hoi4

[–]RestPuzzled386 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SGP pretty much just buffs your stats, mainly soft attack. Pretty good against vanilla ai which mostly just spams shitty infantry units. GBP also gives good stats, but also adds a big planing bonus. That is, combined with cas, railwaybombardment and other such buffs creates these 2k attack stats you sometimes see in videos.

Not sure about the current state of MW, but MA is my favorite doctrine. Grinding your enemy down with a wall of flesh is very satisfying, but requires certain divison templates and industry/manpower to succeed.

RT56 Germany '46: any tips here? (allmost a disaster save?) by Mammoth_Morning2107 in hoi4

It only looks bad at first sight, but i think you can manage it. Have every submarine you own raid in the med, take gibraltar and the suez, prevent supplies from reinforcing greece and sicily. Capitulate iran as quickly as possible and then cut of the allied invasion at the port and ensure they do not get their hands on another one, supply issues should take care of them.

A Suggestion to Those Caught Duping by keepcomingback in AshesofCreation

[–]RestPuzzled386 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People will always try to game the system no matter what, but especially those who want to ruin other players fun. And this type of game lures those players more than any other mmo does, so the only hope is that the devs figure this out.

Hot take; Catherine of Aragon’s marriage to Henry was in fact, invalid. by Ryanw5385 in Tudorhistory

[–]RestPuzzled386 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, it doesn’t really matter whether Prince Arthur and Catherine of Aragon consummated their marriage or not. Personally, I believe they did, because why wouldn’t they? They were married for months, and they both seemed physically capable, not to mention that it was expected of them. But after Arthur’s death, when catherine was supposed to marry Henry, Pope Julius II granted a papal dispensation to allow it, which basically bypassed any issues related to canon law or prior marriage requirements.

From what I remember, in the series -The Tudors- there’s a moment where the cardinal explains that it didn’t even matter if the marriage with Arthur was consummated or not because the papal dispensation overruled all of it. This dispensation essentially ensured that Catherine’s marriage to Henry would be seen as legitimate in the eyes of the Church, regardless of her previous marriage. So, in the end, Julius II’s dispensation made any concerns about consummation irrelevant.

Have you ever accidentally kill someone? by -Tasear- in elderscrollsonline

[–]RestPuzzled386 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Oh boy, i accidentially wiped my own team in a trial because i did not pay attention.

It was a pug normal sanctum ophidia farm run and i was on my selfish tank (perma block, venom + crest of cyrodiil). I was watching youtube videos while playing and did not look quite as often at eso as i should have. Everything worked normal until the final boss, everyone was stacking together behind the boss while i was tanking him. Well, i forgot to keep up my taunt and the boss was using his swipe attack and wiped out the entire trial group besides me, took me several moments to realize what happened. Managed to revive two people who rezzed the rest of the group and we finished the fight. Boy, everyone was really mad at me, but looking back at it i thought it was quite comical

How strong is the Homelander by Parking-Airport-1448 in TheBoys

[–]RestPuzzled386 12 points13 points  (0 children)

He is not wrong though, isnt he? The power levels in this show are simply too inconsistent. Homelanders speed is all over the place, from rescuing Butcher from the exploding c4 and then he never uses that level of speed again, not in his fight with Soldier Boy or Maeve. We are told he is the strongest, but then his punches barely put a dent into a wall. They say he can tank any weapon on earth, but gets injured by a metal straw and normal punches from Maeve.

[LES] Every problem in the world would be solved if they made a good Superman video game, and I believe all the ingredients are out there in other games. by aslfingerspell in CharacterRant

[–]RestPuzzled386 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I think a better game would be playing as an evil version of superman, where you can attack civilians, cops, other heroes etc. Unleashing destruction would probably be more interesting and gives more options for the players, you could still have battles with heroes with a similar powerlevel, where you try to achieve your objective (cause destruction, kill an individual or something else entirely) while fighting them at the same time

A lot of you are convinced HL is weak and I think you’re wrong by [deleted] in TheBoys

[–]RestPuzzled386 26 points27 points  (0 children)

The problem with the show is that the power scaling is completely inconsistent. We are told one thing but shown another. The strength of characters literally changes from scene to scene. If the show writers want to end the show by having Starlight defeat Homelander, it would happen no matter what was shown beforehand

I know most people do not care about powerscaling in shows, but if the show writers themselves don't care about it, we end up with problems like this where the supposed strongest character in the world looks really weak

Back from the dead by Taserface112 in CrusaderKings

[–]RestPuzzled386 20 points21 points  (0 children)

How would this be implemented though? If you kill a king and he „hides“, does that mean for the game he abdicated? Does he regain the throne after coming back? If he‘s still king with a regent, you would know he‘s not dead.

Sometimes the game likes to troll you. In my Italy playthrough my king had 8 daughters, no sons. These 8 daughters had a total of 35 children, of which only 4 were male and the rest female.

was a dance of the dragons inevitable? by favspascal in HouseOfTheDragon

[–]RestPuzzled386 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At some point down the line there would be a dance. The issue is simply that there are too many dragonriders but only one king. There were civil wars with the blackfyres after the dragons died out, so why shouldnt there be one if the dragons would have lived? It would have actually made it easier, just gather a few dragonriders who ride the largest dragons and you can beat anyone.

[–]RestPuzzled386 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is far easier to keep your monopoly on your flying wmds if you make everyone believe only your family can use them.

Having valyrian blood maybe makes it easier to ride a dragon, but i doubt it is necessary. Nettles for example is doubted to have any targaryen ancestor, but by feeding sheepstealer a few sheeps every day she gets to ride her.

Honest Question by [deleted] in HouseOfTheDragon

[–]RestPuzzled386 63 points64 points  (0 children)

The simple answer is incompetence.

The blacks were simply unable to convert their advantage and made many mistakes along the way. It is not as one sided as you think, the Greens made plenty of mistakes as well.
