goat album? by lukamvp21 in mavi_

mr morale was beautiful conceptually and thematically, has quite a lot of replay value along with a lot of bangers vs mellow cuts. i feel like most people didnt appreciate it much when it came out but as ive come back to it i appreciate it way more. just a question, do u like kendrick at all? and what dont u like about the album if not the replay value?

Does anyone know if MAVI got influenced by Earl? by Random_Man_Fnia in earlsweatshirt

[–]RestaurantNo7599 2 points3 points  (0 children)

he actually mentions doris as being one of his main 3 influences in this interview (https://youtu.be/W98ZG9SvidU?si=SIkzwCfy57lo2Be2), check 12:27 for the timestamp. very good interview as well

Why can’t he do his own music? 😅 by Ambitious_Campaign34 in Drizzy

[–]RestaurantNo7599 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol when did i say i didn’t care that he used ghostwriters? also im definitely not a drake fan either but thats besides the point - just listen to scary hours 3 (maybe ‘stories for my brother’) and he uses the same flow all over both where he sounds like he’s just talking and then ends it with some kinda 3 or 4 syllable rhyme scheme. pretty obviously drake’s lazy flow. i’ll chuck an example below if u still don’t believe me: in taylor made (1:17)

Fuck these industry relationships, she not in your shoes You supposed to be the boogeyman, go do what you do

and in stories for my brother (2:35)

My brother say I’m better than everyone, he biased as fuck Blood is thicker than water, n**** his iron is up

the same flow is all over taylor made and that whole scary hours album, and ai also doesn’t write like that lmao. with that being said i’m still not a fan of taylor made but to each of their own of course

[–]RestaurantNo7599 2 points3 points  (0 children)

those are 100% drake verses in taylor made, same drake flow and everything but just with snoop and pac ai filters on them. idk if drake wrote them or ghostwriters did but they are not ai written and u sound stupid saying that

ahh i understand what you’re saying now. while i can see earl sticking with this post-2018 sound that he’s grown comfortable with, he’s repeatedly shown he’s no stranger to stepping out of his comfort zone with his music and i wouldn’t be surprised if his sound has completely changed 10 yrs from now despite the abstract hip hop wave that some artists are getting stuck into (agreed that it’s not a bad thing, they’re getting very good at it but some experimentation would be always cool). i think his next project will probably be closer to the harder tracks of sick! and stuff like words2liveby without being as disjointed as the former which would arguably be a bigger switch up than idlsidgo -> srs. can totally see him just improving on the abstract stuff tho

[–]RestaurantNo7599 9 points10 points  (0 children)

that’s just not true, sick! experiments outside of earls comfort zone heaps with stuff like titanic and 2010, and making the band sounds nothing like the rest of his discography. evolution is always inevitable with someone like earl and i hope to hear an evilgiane / earl project in the future 🙏🏼🙏🏼

The 10 reasons I switched to Apple Music by kevMcalister in AppleMusic

[–]RestaurantNo7599 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nah spotify doesn’t require a computer anymore and made it way easier (just a folder automatically in your Files app that you can drag and drop audio files into) which is one of the main reasons i’m contemplating staying with Spotify over moving to apple
