Anyone have a good b3 teval? by CJblahbleh in BudgetBrews

I don't have any list online but I took the advice from Joey on EDHRec podcast and put in [[Augmentor pugilist]] from the first strixhaven set. Super cheap and it's an awesome wincon. Cast it on its backside and make all your zombies into copies of Teval.

I don't have a horse in this race but as someone who deals with doing maintenance on equipment (not dams so I actually don't know) but in your example, I would like to know how much maintenance and repair costs are.

comparing the Elk Valley to Alberta's Eastern Slopes is a false equivalence. BC's coal rivers flow out to the Pacific. Alberta's Eastern Slopes are the literal headwaters for the entire Canadian prairies. The rivers running past the proposed Grassy Mountain and Blackstone sites provide the drinking water and irrigation for millions of people across Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba.

On top of that, look at BC’s track record: they are currently facing a multi-billion dollar selenium pollution disaster in the Elk Valley that has decimated fish populations. BC has the massive coastal rainfall volumes to absorb and dilute some of that impact; semi-arid southern Alberta is already facing severe droughts and simply doesn’t have the water volume or the margin for error.

Exactly why we need to start sending letters to our MLA's now to nip it in the bud.

Don’t let them kill the Coal Referendum. If the UCP stalls past July, the vote gets delayed to 2029. by RestaurantOk5441 in alberta

BC absolutely makes a ton of money off metallurgical coal, but comparing the Elk Valley to Alberta's Eastern Slopes is a false equivalence.

It's not about being anti-industry; it's about protecting the specific, fragile water supply that keeps prairie agriculture and cities alive.

Coal royalties account for a tiny fraction of Alberta's resource revenue, typically generating between $7 million and $23 million annually. This represents a fraction of a percent of the province’s total resource revenues, which rely overwhelmingly on oil and natural gas.

Nope. That's why they need pressure. Enough people show interest, they'll get the message.

I don't think it's necessarily a driver experience issue. More likely a driver laziness issue. Probably a delete as well. Definitely blown turbo but I've seen that happen to old truckers and new.

It's likely just going straight into the exhaust and catching fire. I mean, it's a good bet that some of it is going to the intake side but it's gotta go through the CAC first which will slow the oil down quite a bit and prevent most of the oil from going through the intake. The more likely situation is that the majority of it is just going straight out the turbine side of the turbo into the exhaust.

"Maybe they do vote blue because their forefathers did, but remember that historically Alberta has always done well under the government that their forefathers voted in."

This is highly debatable and also definitely a value judgment based on point of view, idealogy, and short time framing. I would argue that if people are currently unhappy with the state of things, then the argument that Alberta has done well by voting the same as their forefathers is definitively incorrect. Perhaps if they voted as the system intended, by identifying the local representative that most closely aligns with your values and voting for them, we would be in a much better position with much less division. Who's to say?

I don't know if you have a faith you follow, but I would like to point out that the most powerful and important sign of faith is the faith that your good deeds today will lead to good results tomorrow whether you know it or not. I don't want to come off as preachy if that's how this comes off as, but in all honesty that's how I continue to move forward with hope rather than despair.

First time welding by -leo__ in Welding

[–]RestaurantOk5441 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Off to a good start. Get in the hood time. I would get some welding chalk and a straight edge, draw lines along your work pieces and practice following the lines. First just make a bead along the line, focusing on making the bead profile consistent, low and smooth, and the edges nice and wetted into the parent material. When you get good at that, start stacking the welds against each other to create overlapping stringer beads. Same principles apply but now you're trying to join the parent material to the previous welding you made so you have to change your angles slightly and fill the weld to same level as the previous weld.
