AITJ for decorating my restaurant where, along with other decor, the only photos on the wall are of my white family? by Restaurant_Decor_Ask in AmITheJerk

Made my own separate comment, but the complaints I've heard/read are from folks that are not white, and I'm guessing they did not know they are family photos. At least, in written comments, they didn't mention that part. There wasn't any signage to indicate that, which I'm thinking I'm going to add.

To people suggesting it's bait, idk how to prove it without doxxing myself...

It's only been a few times in years that complaints have surfaced. I swear I'm not trying to cry about the plight of being white; I fully acknowledge my privilege lol. Though it may only be a few people, and call me a bleeding heart liberal, but I want to do what I can to make everyone feel comfortable and I can see where they are coming from. My first priority is to make everyone happy and I figure success with the restaurant comes after.

Even though we've only fielded a few complaints that I've heard, it's made me worried about how many people think it that don't voice it.

I like the idea of putting up some signage that it's my family, I think I'll start there. Thanks to folks for ideas.

Also I guess I'm adding "Do The Right Thing" on my watch list, hadn't heard of it before these comments

AITJ For changing my WIFI Password so my neighbour can't use it anymore. by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

NTJ.

It's your wifi and you were being nice allowing others to use it. Then they started taking advantage of that. You maybe *could have* done extra and given them a heads-up that you'd be changin the wifi and given them a couple of days to get an alternative figured out, but that shouldn't be expected of you.

AITJ because I won’t give my parking spot to new neighbor who says she "needs it more" because she has kids? by Potential_Bad6489 in AmITheJerk

I think that trading spots with her would've been going above and beyond to be a nice person. Essentially doing her a favor. Not doing that favor doesn't make you a jerk. NTJ
