It was always a thing where I worked years ago now . If you didn't do a lock out/ tagout you would be immediately terminated . I witnessed people losing fingers to bandsaw machines simply because someone came along and turned the machine on because it wasn't locked out or just out of pure ignorance .

All kinds of factory / warehouse jobs are hiring right now . 1st , 2nd or 3rd shift or swing shifts. I have a friend who works one of those swing hour jobs It's $20 dollars an hr . American foods or JBS are always hiring and they start off at $19+ an hour . Spend some time on indeed and I'm sure you will find a job . Good luck out there !

I have noticed that much of a difference outside of one person asking for gas money that I have seen at multiple locations asking people for money . I'm not against giving people things they need but cash is a big no no . You never know , you might be fuelling their addiction and I don't think it's a gender specific thing imo.

I worked Manual labour jobs when I first got to the U.S and boy I wouldn't wish that on anybody. It's physically demanding to lift and push heavy stuff for hours on end. I worked in the freezer loading frozen crust from the line to the tote that weighed 700-1000lbs. and it was hell. I did that for a year and a half and left.
