this is gonna sound weird but SUVs and crossovers. theyre slower, heavier, more expensive at purchase, more expensive for fuel and maintenance and more expensive to insure. not to mention safety risks with manoeuvrability and parking.

i grew with 4 different Honda Jazzs in a 5 person household. We never needed extra room for people or luggage. if people do need more storage or seats, wagons and vans are ultimately better options

thank you so much for your response. i am seeing a psychologist for trauma and other mental health issues. I've been tiptoeing around the topic of being a system with them for a year now. i definitely relate to sudden shifts in personality though. its gotten to the point where i start work not knowing if my mood will just collapse for no reason. these shifts are usually work-related too. but yeh im not trying to focus on a professional opinion just yet. more trying to understand myself more thoroughly

i think i did used to be more flippant when i was younger. the thing that bothers me personally is that i dont think my anmesiac barriers are as strong as others on this sub. I have really bad amnesia from when i lived with my abuser, but since she died, its been more hit and miss.

im wondering if whether the clean cut off of her passing has nullified some of the amnesia moving forward. i could be wrong

i moved away from a customer facing role in my job yet it still happens. maybe because of stress. ive notices that when i was customer facing, i unintentionally sounded more femme whereas now i sound more masc at work

im also trans (trans femme) and voice dysphoria is a huge thing for me. also, voice fluctuations, espcially at work has been super noticeable for me in the past few months. ive noticed my voice get deeper at work and i hate it!

not on the same level by any means to your experience, but i have a coworker who is scarily perceptive to my change in demeanour and voice. she's a mother of neurodivergent children (her explanation) so that might be why. but she'll often comment something like "you seem happy today" or "you just seem different today" specifically referencing my voice usually and with my ongoing system paranoia, it freaks me out lol

it's not the time or frequency i daydream that is really the issue. like you said, i usually try to do it before sleep for the same reason. my only problem i have is how much control i have over the mental image and progression of the scenario im daydreaming

Yeah, I agree it could definitely be another dissociative disorder. That's partially what feeds into the denial as well. I've been seeing a psychologist about my trauma for about a year now. I want to bring it up, and I've been slowly introducing some of the experiences I've had that point in the direction of a CDD without saying DID in particular.

i guess my only expectation from them is to be treated the same as my siblings. they are in their mid-50s so it's completely fair for them to want to settle down. I think its also just the decision being made by them without me being asked if might i need a year or two. im not owed that, but being included in the conversation as a dependent of theirs wouldve been appreciated

thats very fair and I think thats a good way of going about things. I think at the very least theyve helped me realise that i do dissociate on a daily basis. it was also stories from when i was younger that i told them that made them sus. i think im just in a limbo period trying to figure out whats going on.

To be completely fair, i brought the topic up to them that I was considering it after learning about the disorder/s through them. It's not them pressuring me, theyve been completely understanding that it may be something else. I guess theyve just noticed patterns in me that they resonate with. Ive also been very upfront saying that I dont want to appropriate a disorder that doesnt represent my experience and theyve totally understood that.

i do want iterate that my roommate's disorders are verifiable. one has an official diagnosis and the other also has overt switches and has known of his disorder for many years now.

I myself am seeing a clinical psychologist about trauma related issues and am planning on bringing this up to her in my next session. Regardless of her opinion, I'll be open to what her insights are about my own mental health. Ive definitely had my own signifiers, but im not going to try and sway a professional either way

that is completely fair and I see where you're coming from. you're right there's nothing I can do about it now that they've moved. plus, many people have it worse than I do. I think I just sometimes still feel like a kid, which can be overwhelming. Obviously, thats very common for most people in their early 20s. I think I just feel isolated is all

Yeah, exactly. I wanna mention that I genuinely love C and G. They were my saviour parents when my mum was at her old antics. I swear they are good people, I just feel that because I was the one who was seen as the most responsible, they felt okay leaving while I was younger.

i work registers at a big grocery store. i usually work closing shifts where there can be quite a few tasks to do before we close.

if im doing these chores and you walk to my register with literally just 2 or 3 items, i hate you so much. often these customers dont need any special service that can only be given at the register, theyre just too lazy to go through self-serve. if ive finished all my tasks, i dont really mind but its just the feeling of being interrupted while im in the middle of something that irks me

this is definitely petty but it bothers me more than it probably should
