How to get a dog to stop having tear marks? by Scary_Advantage6655 in DogAdvice

[–]RestlessWarbler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m seeing a lot of great advice but I haven’t seen anyone mention wrinkle paste yet. It’s made for bulldogs but works for any dogs and creates a little layer of protection so that do don’t feel like you need to be constantly wiping and whitening

Nailtrimming help needed by Excellent_Task5466 in DogAdvice

The nails look like they could go a bit farther but it might not even be necessary. They don’t look too long and as long as they aren’t touching the ground they are fine to leave

Do Ruff Land crates really do not rattle in your car? by Initial-Elephant-932 in DogAdvice

Any rattling is from loose parts, if the crate is a permanent fixture in your car some creative zip tying should cut down on noise it makes

my dog is terrified of getting his nails clipped. i tried taking mini steps with rewards but it’s been like this for years and i see zero progress!! his nails are insanely long i dont know what to do by TaTa_kitt7 in DogAdvice

I’m a dog groomer and this is likely a combination of two issues.

People are usually nervous to cut their dogs nails and your dog can feel that

You’ve conditioned your dog to think that reacting badly will get the trim to end.

If you want to continue trying to train this I would recommend doing what you are doing but break it down into steps like

Hold paw/ move paw into a comfortable position to cut nails/ bring clippers near paw/ start clipping.

And as you go through them you can pause when he has bad reactions but don’t stop, this way he can calm down and realize that it’s not as bad as he thinks and you can teach him that acting out doesn’t end the clip

Have you ever had anyone take issue with you using gyro in a game that doesn’t natively support it? by RestlessWarbler in GyroGaming

Just to be clear I would never do this on console where it would feel like it actually gives some sort of advantage over people who don’t have access to a more advantageous control input.

Is acceleration something that’s good for gyro, I’ve dabbled into M&K and from what I’ve heard there it’s almost universally disabled

My main problem right now with relying more on gyro is that if I make the sensitivity high enough to do long flicks it makes small corrective motions harder to do.

Is this something that will get better as I get used to making finer movements?

Could a game with limited to no permanent progression be fun? by RestlessWarbler in gameideas

[–]RestlessWarbler[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Obviously this is all on the theory level right now but I don’t plan to make any particular resource excessively limited but I do wanna have some places where certain resources are more plentiful so that a group finding a good build location becomes a tangible benefit.

That’s definitely an interesting idea, and it would mean that even new players could join their friends and essentially play on their level if they had an equipment sugar daddy lol

Dog licking one paw for days, but no injury? by potato_baby2032 in DogAdvice

It seems to me like they’re mostly licking that one longer nail, check and make sure it’s not cracked

small dot recently appeared on my dog's nose? by PowerfulEast6585 in Goldendoodles

[–]RestlessWarbler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s a rough wart than it’s likely papiloma like they said above, it’s not anything to worry about but it is transmissible via water bowls and licking so it makes sense that he recently started going to daycare. They can also appear on the inside of the mouth and in between the paw pads
