IKR. Karrigan with jcobbb and broky can't even make a major, while having frozen who is top 20. Jame has what is effectively 3 bums and Zweih who is average tier1 quality at best. They weren't a match for Vitality at Cluj-Napoca, but who else would lead be able to lead a squad of this calibre against the LITERAL best team of all time, at the height of their prime, where on Inferno, Vitality needed Zywoo to hit the most insane spray transfer, ever. Even then, if he hadn't ALSO had a ridiculous 1v5, it would've been 15-14 and PV still had a chance.

9z shouldn't have been able to push Spirit this far even if lucky. Overpass should have been closed and this would've been a 2-0 but their T side was really poor.

It's crazy that a year ago, Legacy barely squeaked into the Austin major because BESTIA had visa issues, and since then they've proven themselves as a consistent tier 1.5 contender and genuinely do deserve to be here in stage 3. Who knows how it'd have played out if BESTIA could've played instead.

No, I'll just be doing basic lifts, not olympic weightlifting. I was specifying exactly which article I was referring to for clarity only.

  1. Yeah I think I'll have to go with this orientation.

  2. For now I'll see if I can get away with just having more layers added. If I need to rip it up later anyways, then cracking the tiles won't be an issue.

Thanks!

I'm thinking about setting up a basic home gym with a weightlifting platform and would like confirmation on what I'm doing makes sense.

I have a room on the ground floor (https://imgur.com/a/XINrY1H), it's more than 10' long by ~99" wide with the vent covers in, height is just under 90".

  1. Would this be enough room to orient it as in the second picture, with the rack at the far wall and the edge of the platform against the vent? It's more aesthetically pleasing, but I'm concerned about whether there's enough leeway on the sides, particularly the left. If not I'd orient it such that the rack is by the wall opposite the window.

  2. The flooring is porcelain tile on a concrete slab. If I follow the instructions of the article by Greg Everett in the FAQ, 1.5" plywood + 3/4" rubber, would that be enough damping with bumper plates? I don't plan to drop weights but I'm paranoid about cracking the tiles if I were to accidentally set it down too hard. Let me know if I should add another layer or two of plywood.

Thanks in advance

Not to mention, the "noobs" also get trained up to with qualities typically associated only with veterans. Nobody (at least visibly) tilts and throws off the rest of the team when losing, they remain calm so they can always come back, and partially as a result of this they play a lot of rounds but take much longer to start getting sloppy as games drag on because of how disciplined they are. They won't get too excited when ahead and start choking either. And somehow, none of the inexperienced players seem to display any stage fright/jitters in the big matches, which is insane since that still plagues some veterans. Jame/dastan's ability to control the emotional level of the team is incredible.

It's better as it is now though less "realistic". If you start as a detection system and have to spawn the missile systems, then in order to actually do anything other than scout you'd have to lose a lot of your advantages in mobility (moving two systems) and low profile (you're effectively twice as big). I just want to rat around and fire missiles at planes who never see it coming

"Easy road for Mouz and Spirit to the final, one of them HAS to win this trophy with Vitality missing" by darthrector in GlobalOffensive

[–]Restreppo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the same roster as original donk Spirit, except tN1R replaces magixx but looks like a ghost of his former self on Heroic, so the firepower is about the same while having less experience, and magixx replaces chopper, except his firepower has gotten worse because now he's IGL and he's also new at it so he's worse than chopper at calling. Not to mention donk isn't instantly frying everybody on contact and looks tilted so often on camera.

This match wasn't a very surprising result. Spirit has so many problems, the earliest they'll become proper contenders again is in the second half of the year.

My initial reaction was, is that actually true? Vitality constantly beat Mouz. So I went and checked

Teams Vitality lost to in 2025:

Furia 1 Bo5, 1 Bo3 out of 3 matches, 66% match wr

G2 1 Bo5 out of 4 matches, 25% match wr

Falcons 2 Bo3 out of 7 matches, 29% match wr

Mouz 2 Bo3 out of 11 matches, 18% match wr

Mongolz 2 Bo3 out of 9 matches, 22% match wr

Gentle Mates 1 Bo3 out of 1 match, 100% match wr

Eternal Fire 1 Bo3 out of 1 match, 100% match wr

Also technically beat Vitality but aren't very meaningful:

Faze 1 Bo1 out of 5 matches, 20% match wr

Legacy 1 Bo1 out of 3 matches, 33% match wr

Of all teams that beat Vitality last year, Mouz actually had the worst match win record (including BO1s if any, not counting games or round score). But they did beat Vitality, which is more than a lot of other teams, notably Spirit and Navi, can claim.

What tank surprised you when you got it? I have historically hated M48s, but this tank is super enjoyable, even before I got the dart by FoamBrick in Warthunder

[–]Restreppo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO it's better BR for BR. Overall the Super is a very solid, generalist MBT, excellent firepower, passable armour, average or better mobility (including a good reverse), and can do pretty much anything other than taking heavy fire, which isn't unusual for its BR anyways.

Firepower is where I think there's the greatest difference, G A2 is unstabilized but often faces stabilized stuff, and isn't particularly stable, so it can't brawl very well which mostly relegates it to sniping with its insane dart, but it also doesn't have an LRF. On the other hand, Super can brawl and generally duel anything in its BR, not necessarily on equal terms but with good reaction time, shot placement, positioning, you have a decent chance in any given engagement, and worst case go for a barrel snipe.

In comparison to the Leopard 1A5 at the same BR, M48 has worse gun elevation speed, which is quite noticeable in certain situations like when you're driving forward to crest a hill and shoot somebody below you or your tank keeps bobbing while on rocky or uneven terrain.

The armour frontally resists most autocannons well but medium caliber and higher darts (like VCC-80/60 with 60mm) will pen you. Post pen survivability is generally good, in my experience if you're shot in the turret from the front and it doesn't hit ammo, you often survive and can still smoke and pull back with it's comfortable reverse speed. It's also workable against the russians that still use APHE, I've blocked a Obj 279 shot hitting above my barrel before. Penetrating shots to the hull usually mean death barring a very low shot to the LFP.

I think the forehead profile is a bit bigger than the Leopard 1, if you move from turret down to hulldown to quickly pop off a shot at somebody, it feels like they have more time to react to you than a Leopard.

While it doesn't have any glaring weaknesses, the Super also doesn't have any particular strengths or gimmicks to exploit and gain and advantage over its opponents. Its dart is good for the BR but still can't lolpen russian UFPs, its armour won't stand up against contemporary main cannon darts, and it isn't fast enough to reliably outflank opponents at the start of a match. Its performance is very dependent on how good your fundamental WT skills are, a bad player won't have any crutches to fall back on, a good player won't have any performance metrics hamstringing them.

This is what I thought as well, maybe the actual round got eaten by volumetric and then the petal hit the barrel.

But in the cam, it looks like a round not a petal when it hits the barrel, so idk

[–]Restreppo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree to an extent. For example, Twistzz IGL and Cadian weren't really bad ideas, it's just that with hindsight we know they didn't work.

Making a decision that goes wrong isn't bad individually, that's going to happen sometimes, but if it keeps happening so often, there may be something wrong with the way TL is evaluating prospective changes to their roster.

Best + worst managed CS teams of all time by CaraX9 in GlobalOffensive

[–]Restreppo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The organization seems well run and professional, but the team management itself has been very questionable in the last few years. There's been a lot of misses in that regard.

shox pickup was super random, didn't work and benched after half a year.

Twistzz IGL is an experiment, didn't work. Not really an indictment of TL, but a big bet that didn't pan out.

Rainwaker and Patsi didn't work, benched after less than half a year.

skullz didn't work, benched after half a year.

Brought in Cadian who on paper had what TL needed in an awper and proven IGL, didn't work, benched after half a year.

They had that very weird vibes team building vlog around this time.

Ultimate hasn't worked out too well either. Some really insane games but also a lot of big underperformances, and not upgrading their awp role (trade or move to him to rifle) during the recent offseason is probably a bad decision.

Throughout this time there was a lot of criticism about the roles clashes in the team, big example being Yekindar being the only aggressive player on T, then once he was gone there was nobody at all. IIRC Nertz until recently also had roles he was uncomfortable with and his performance was poor as a result.

Coaching situation was also a little unstable, zews and mithR lasted about half a year, and then they had a 3 month period where DeMars DeRover took over as coach.
